WASHINGTON, D.C. – As new positive cases of COVID-19 crop up among officials in the White House and on the Hill, the president’s allies in the Senate are scrambling — not to secure additional relief for struggling American families and small businesses, but to reinforce their plans to jam through Trump’s SCOTUS pick. Even as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that he would delay reconvening his chamber for another two weeks, he was quick to point out that the delay would not slow down pushing Judge Amy Coney Barrett through the approvals process.

Senate Pushes Ahead On Trump's Pick For SCOTUS

“Trump’s Senate allies are doing everything they can to ensure Trump’s pick for SCOTUS moves swiftly through the approvals process. Where has this urgency been as Americans have languished for weeks without new coronavirus relief?” asked Accountable.US President Kyle Herrig. “As small businesses risk shuttering and people stand on the brink of eviction, the Senate’s top priority should be additional COVID-19 relief. When will lawmakers start putting that ahead of Trump’s radical judicial agenda?”
