In August, ThaiCERT (Thailand Computer Security Coordination Center) came out with a warning that the data of about 3.3 million Thai citizens’ had been found in foreign database systems, suggesting their personal data may have been breached.

More recently, online gambling platform Super Casino suffered a data breach, exposing crucial information of the customers. According to Super Casino, hackers may have got their hands on the names, email addresses, telephone numbers, usernames, residential addresses, and the date of the user’s registration. Further, Super Casino said that hackers did not get access to user’s financial details such as credit cards, payment information or any other related document.

Taking lessons from such cases, online casino owners are spending a huge amount of time and money to strengthen online security. Moreover, if they don’t address such concerns, they will lose the trust the gamers, and eventually, their business as well.

Thus, they are taking the help of loss prevention officers and other experts to prevent user’s privacy and confidential data. For instance, online casinos are now using secure connections to send encrypted information. This means data is readable only to the person for whom it is intended. Also, major online casinos are overseen by regulatory bodies such as The Gaming Authority, giving them an extra layer of security.
