How to install iOS 13.3 beta 1 without developer account

Updated on

iOS 13.2 came with one major issue, and that is the RAM management problem. Those who updated to iOS 13.2, which came out last week, reported killing of background apps and lack of multitasking. Thus, everyone is eagerly waiting for iOS 13.3, expecting it to address the RAM management problem. Though it will still be some time until Apple releases the stable iOS 13.3, the company has come out with the iOS 13.3 developer beta 1. If you don’t want to wait for the public release, there is a trick that could help you to install iOS 13.3 beta without a developer account.

iOS 13.3 developer beta 1 available to download

Apple came out with the iOS 13.3 developer beta 1 yesterday (developer betas of iPadOS 13.3, watchOS 6.1.1, and tvOS 13.3 are available as well). If you have a developer account, you can easily get access to the beta version. If not, you will have to use the below trick to install iOS 13.3 without a developer account. Installing new updates has become super easy now. Apple has enabled OTA updates with the release of 13.3 beta 1 (and iPadOS 13.3 beta 1).

Before you move to install the iOS 13.3 developer beta 1, there are a few points that you should know. First, it is recommended that you take a backup of your device before downloading the beta as there is always a risk of data loss. Second, if possible, download the beta version on a secondary device to ensure that your primary device is safe. Last, if you encounter any issue during the process, you always have the option to downgrade to earlier versions (provided Apple is still signing for it).

Another important thing that you must know is that the beta versions are known to be unstable. However, if you are okay with that or you can’t live with the RAM management problem in iOS 13.2, then follow the below trick. It must be noted that the below trick (and steps) works with the iPadOS as well.

How to install iOS 13.3 without developer account

Follow the below steps to install iOS 13.3 without a developer account:

  1. The most important thing that you will need is the beta profile. You can download it from this link or this. Tap on download, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
  2. After downloading the profile, go to the Settings app.
  3. Below your iCloud name, there will be a new option now, called “Profile Downloaded.” Tap it.
  4. Tap on Install at the top-right corner. You will be prompted to enter the passcode. After this, you will have to confirm the installation a couple of times.
  5. After the profile is successfully installed, restart your device. You may get a prompt to restart the iPhone as well.
  6. Once the iPhone is back up, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

You will notice that the iOS 13.3 update is available for you. Now, just tap Download and that’s it! The download may take a few minutes or a couple of hours, depending on your internet speed.

What’s new with iOS 13.3?

Since iOS 13.3 developer beta 1 is just a day old, there isn’t much information on the changes that it comes with. However, the early tests suggest that it does address the RAM management problem seen in iOS 13.2.

“iOS 13.3 Beta seems like it fixes the apps reloading / RAM management issue.  I have opened 32 apps and have not had one reload yet on iPhone 11 Pro Max,” a Twitter user said.

Other changes that we know about are the addition of a new option in Settings to disable the Memoji keyboard from appearing every time. With iOS 13.3, the updated Apple Watch icon is back as well.

Also, the Communication Limits now is available under Screen Time to help you set limits based on the contacts. At the WWDC, Apple talked about adding a new feature that would allow parents to choose contacts for communication purposes. The feature missed the iOS 13 public release, and is now expected to be available with iOS 13.3.

With this feature, parents could allow “everyone” or specific contacts to communicate with the device when the Screen Time is enabled. Also, parents can decide if the kids can have the ability to edit contacts. Parents can also add themselves to group communications to monitor the discussions.

For now, there is one known issue that has been reported with iOS 13.3 beta, and it is related to the Beats Solo Pro. “If you are a Beats Solo Pro user, I recommend not installing the iOS 13.3 beta for now. Its PID is not in that build, which causes iOS to basically not know about the device,” a Twitter user notes.
