Everyone loves taking pictures, and if you own an iPhone, you have a couple more reasons to take images. First is the camera quality and the second is flaunting your iPhone. Whatever might be the reason, the fact is, your Photos app will most likely be full of all kinds of images. With so many images and albums, it gets very difficult to search or browse for specific images. However, if you know how to rename albums in iOS 13, then you can easily organize the Photos app as well.
Renaming albums: why is it important?
Apple’s Photos app offers several ways to organize pictures, for instance, you can create albums and slideshows from the available images and videos. Putting photos into separate albums is one of the best ways to organize the images. Sometimes, however, it happens that the name of the album doesn’t correctly describe the images that it contains. Also, there are situations, when you wish to change the name of an album to differentiate it from another similar album, for instance, Picnic abc and Picnic xyz.
In such situations, you might feel the need to change the names of the albums. It must be noted that Apple doesn’t allow you to rename all albums. You won’t be able to edit some default albums, such as Camera Roll, Favorites, My Photo Stream, and more. You can, however, edit albums like Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, and more.
Now, let’s check out the steps to rename albums in iOS 13.
How to Rename Albums in iOS 13
First, launch the Photos app from the iPhone screen. The Photos app icon is a colored wheel. Once you launch the app, by default, you will land on the Albums screen of the Photos app.
Second, from the bottom menu bar, tap on “Albums.”
Third, tap on “See All” at the top of the screen.
Fourth, select “Edit” from the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Fifth, tap on the text (title) of the album, which you want to rename (don’t tap on the album, but on the text). For instance, if the title is “Wedding” then tap on the text “Wedding.”
Sixth, erase the existing text or title by using the keyboard’s backspace button.
Seventh, type the new name for the album.
Eighth, after typing the new name tap “Done” in the upper right-hand corner.
Nine, tap ‘Done’ once more to confirm the change.

If you use the Photos apps on multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, or Mac), then there is no need to rename on all devices separately. Once you have renamed it on one device, it will sync across other devices as well, thanks to the iCloud.
How to add images to existing albums
Now that you know how to rename albums in iOS 13, you should also know how to add images in the iOS 13. In the earlier versions of the iOS, to add photos to an existing album, you had to select the photos from the Camera Roll and then tap the “Add To” button at the bottom of the interface.
With iOS 13, however, Apple has moved the feature to add photos to the share sheet. Follow the below steps to add photos to an album in iOS 13.
First, launch the Photos app on your iPad or iPhone.
Second, in the top-right corner of the screen, tap on “Select.” Now, tap on the images that you wish to add to the album.
Third, tap on the Share Sheet button in the bottom-left corner of the screen. The Share Sheet button is a square with an arrow pointing out.
Fourth, swipe up on the share sheet to check the results of the previous step.
Fifth, now tap on “Add to Album.”
Sixth, from the screen “My Albums,” tap on the existing album to which you wish to add the photos. Alternatively, you can also tap the New Album option, to save the photos to a new album.
Photos app: what’s new?
