The Google Pixel 4 line-up is expected to be released in the fall, so leaks and rumors about the two devices are really starting to pick up. Now a pair of alleged Google Pixel 4 photos is going around, but it’s anyone’s guess if they are genuine.
Are these really Google Pixel 4 photos?
XDA Developers Editor-in-Chief Mishaal Rahman tweeted about the photos, which originally surfaced on Telegram:
These images of an alleged Google Pixel 4 just started floating around on Telegram. No idea of the true source or if they’re legit. pic.twitter.com/ooPKkDudZA

The images are somewhat believable. They show most of the front and a large portion of the back. 9to5 Google suggests that the photos are probably of the smaller Pixel 4 rather than the XL version. The device in the alleged Google Pixel 4 photos appears to have a 5.7-inch display with a thin bezel along the bottom. The speaker grill is narrower but a bit taller than the one on the Pixel 3.
The alleged Google Pixel 4 photos also show a single-lens selfie camera and a light next to it. The Pixel 4 line-up is rumored to have a Soli radar chip, although it’s hard to see in the images, as is the IR camera for the facial recognition feature.
Signs the photos could be real
The device in the images is running Android 10, so that’s a good sign that the pictures might be real. It’s possible that the black background on the display is a live wallpaper. It’s also interesting that it’s a dark background, given all the attention dark modes have been given across the tech space lately.
The other photo shows the square-shaped camera module on the back, which is in line with the teaser image Google itself posted a couple months ago. The device is expected to sport a 12-megapixel lens with phase-detect auto-focus and a 16-megapixel telephoto lens.
