Updated on

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is coming, according to a report from SamMobile. The site claims they have confirmation that Samsung is working on the next generation tablet that will be the successor to the previous Galaxy Tab S4. This news comes only months after Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S5E, which is a premium mid-range tablet that apparently is serving as a mid cycle release.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Leaks

According to the report, the new tablet will be dubbed Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, since the S5E was already released and the company doesn’t want to be too repetitious with its device names. It will feature the Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and will run the Android 9 Pie OS. It will feature a 10.5 inch display, and it is quite likely it will not have a 64GB storage option. Instead, the base model will come with 128GB of internal memory, with a 256GB option available at a higher price point. The leak also reveals that the Galaxy Tab S6 will come with its own S-pen stylus, similar to the one that came with its predecessor. a groove in the back of the tablet will provide a storage and charging slot for the stylus, which indicates it may be Bluetooth enabled.

Multiple Choice

Along with having more than one choice in storage size, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 will also come in a variety of colors. Three options will be available: grey, blue, and brown. It will most likely feature a dual rear camera, but as of this moment the details on camera specs aren’t known for sure. The device will also come in a Wi-Fi only model and an LTE model.

Release Date

As of right now, we do not know when to expect the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 to be released. However, a look at past history indicates it could be as early as next month. The S4 model was launched on August 1st last year, one week prior to the Galaxy Note 9 being announced. We know the Galaxy Note 10 will be announced on August 7th of this year. It is possible that this device will be launched simultaneously. Or, the company could choose to hold out until September and launch the device at IFA 2019 in Berlin.
