Are You Also Facing Bootloop Issue With Motorola One Vision?

Updated on

Motorola One Vision is a beautiful phone featuring a unique punch hole camera design. However, like with any other phone, it is not without issues. Several users lately have been complaining about a bootloop issue with the Motorola One Vision.

Affected users say they experience the bootloop issue with Motorola One Vision after enabling the file transfer mode or developer options, notes tech site PiunikaWeb. The problem is affecting several users, who have raised the issue on social platforms and product forums.

“When I enabled developer options and change something … my moto is fine till my screen is on. But when I need to power on screen again, when I enter the security code, my moto dont [sic] let me to see home screen, but automaticly [sic] restarts and operating [sic] till the next security code thing. And restarts again and again and again,” one user says.

Most users face the issue after tweaking the default USB connection settings under Developer options. However, PiunikaWeb notes that any change in the default settings is enough to trigger the bootloop issue with Motorola One Vision.

Users have been facing the issue at least since early last month. The good thing is that the company is aware of the issue. A forum admin officially acknowledged the issue last month, but that’s the only update on the issue so far.

There aren’t any useful workarounds either. Some say that doing a factory reset helps to end the frustrating bootloop. However, going for the factory reset every time there is a problem is not a feasible solution.

One more workaround that one user found is that not enabling any sort of screen lock doesn’t send the phone into bootploop even if the Developer settings are changed.

“I’ve wiped my one vision clean, didn’t set any lock method (just swipe to unlock screen), and changed it to “transfer mode” on dev opts. It worked fine,” one user said.

Another option you have to get rid of the bootloop issue with Motorola One Vision is to avoid using the Developer settings until Motorola comes up with a fix. It is disappointing to see Motorola unable to fix the issue that users have been reporting for over a month, since the release of the phone in May. Hopefully, the company will fix it soon.

Motorola’s One Vision is a mid-range phone with a polycarbonate back. The handset features a dual camera setup on the back, a punch-hole notch for the selfie camera and the fingerprint scanner. It has a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 along with an aspect ratio of 21:9.

Though the screen is impressive, it is not OLED, which has become the norm in 2019. There are 4D edges on the rear glass panel, making it easy to hold the phone. Also, the frame has a slight curvature to fit the palm perfectly.

Talking of the dual camera setup on the back, it features a 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 primary sensor and the secondary 5-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera is a 25-megapixel f/2.0 shooter. There is a Night mode to sharpen the images and also preserve the natural colors.

The handset is powered by the Exynos 9609 chipset, and comes with 4GB of RAM. It has a storage capacity of 128GB, which can be expanded via micro SD. Motorola’s One Vision is equipped with 3,500 mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging over USB type-C, which can top up the battery from 10% in about two hours. The handset runs on Android 9 Pie and is priced at €300.

Motorola’s One Vision launched in international markets in May, but in China it has yet to make its debut. In China, however, the phone is speculated to launch as P50. Motorola hinted about the Chinese version in May, and now Lenovo’s VP, Chang Cheng, shared a promo video (via Weibo) of the P50.

Both One Vision and P50 have the same design and hardware, including 21:9 screen. Other similarities between the phones are the punch-hole camera design, a 25MP selfie camera, 48MP main camera, 3,500 mAh battery and Exynos 9609 chipset. However, the Chinese version would have a different UI as stock Android won’t be of much use in China. According to the promo video, the P50 will launch in China on July 15.
