OnePlus has fixed one major issue with the OnePlus 7 Pro in its latest update. The company is rolling out OxygenOS 9.5.7, and it seems to have fixed the OnePlus 7 Pro ghost touch issue.

Since the launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro, many users have complained about ghost touch or phantom touch issues with their handset. The issue resulted in random, annoying taps at the top of the screen.
“I’m also experiencing these kind of issues. In my case it was only while using CPU-Z: phone sitting on the table and random taps & swipes being triggered, mostly the status bar but not limited to that. Still waiting to see if it happens in other app,” one user said on OnePlus’ forums last month. Earlier this month, the Chinese company acknowledged the issue and assured a fix soon.
“We have received limited reports from users describing their encounter of the ‘phantom taps’ experience. Our team has worked hard to identify these cases, and we will release a firmware update in the upcoming weeks,” OnePlus said in a statement.
Now almost a week later, the company has delivered on its promise. With the OxygenOS 9.5.7 update, the company has rolled out a fix for the OnePlus 7 Pro ghost touch issue. It must be noted that the update’s changelog does not specifically mention the fix for the ghost touch issue. Instead, it lists “improved touch sensitivity for screen,” which we believe is to fix the OnePlus 7 Pro ghost touch issue.

The OxygenOS 9.5.7 update is currently in a limited rollout, so it is not known if the issue is fixed for all affected users. However, some who were able to install the update confirmed that they are no longer experiencing it.
“Seems to be fixing ghost touches. Didn’t get those anymore on cpu-z,” one Reddit user said.
However, the true picture won’t be known for a couple of days when all users update to the latest version. The update is rolling out over the air. To manually check if the update is available for you, go to Settings > System Update. The file size is about 127 MB.
“This OTA will have a staged rollout, the OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs,” OnePlus says.

OxygenOS 9.5.7 update brings camera improvements
In addition to fixing the ghost touch problem, the OxygenOS 9.5.7 update includes several camera-related changes, including color saturation in ultra-wide mode, HDR noise issues and more.
Based on the changelog, OxygenOS 9.5.7 improves overall contrast and color performance, accuracy and stability of auto focusing and the white balance consistency of the triple-lens rear camera setup. Some users also previously complained about a greenish tone in some low-light scenes, and this also seems to have been fixed.
After the update, low-light photos taken in ultra-wide mode will offer better clarity and noise reduction. Similar improvements can also be noticed in telephoto mode and Nightscape. The brightness and clarity in extreme low-light scenes in Nightscape are also improved.
One can download the updated camera app from APKMirror. Although the camera app can be side-loaded on older OnePlus phones running OxygenOS 9.0.x, users may not get all the features, and some features might not work properly.
OnePlus also rolled out an update last month (version OxygenOS 9.5.4) which included a few camera improvements, such as image quality in HDR and low light. The earlier update also fixed issues with white balance and focus.

In addition to the camera and ghost touch, the latest update also optimizes double-tap to wake, fixes the issue with the ambient display and improves audio quality for voice calls from third-party apps. From the changelog, it is not clear if the OxygenOS 9.5.7 update fixes the bug that rejects touch input in the top corners.
