A Girl In New Zealand Wants Train The Dragons

Girl Wants To Train Dragons

A story that seems to originate in a fairy tale has come out New Zealand as an 11 year old girl named Victoria petitioned the PM to allow her to train dragons for the government. While this could be attributed to the fandom surrounding Game of Thrones, Victoria most likely hasn’t been watching the show. Due to the content, it isn’t suitable for young viewers. However she is a fan of the Dreamworks movie, “How To Train Your Dragon.”

According to the NY Post, Victoria’s brother posted on Reddit about the letter and her request for the government to inform her of whether they had located any dragons. “So it turns out, she wanted the government to make her telekinetic when they are able, and wanted to find out what they know about dragons and if they had found any yet, so she could train them.”  He attributes her interest in telekenesis to watching “Stranger Things,” where one of the characters possesses these powers. It seems almost laughable that someone would write to the PM and make a request to train dragons. However, in light of recent events in New Zealand it is understandable that a young child would wish to do something to help set wrongs to right.

Prime Minster Jacinda Adern’s Response

While many officials would have brushed the letter aside and never replied, Jacinda Adern took the time to write a letter to Victoria. After thanking Victoria for her interest in helping the country, the PM stated “we were very interested to hear your suggestions about psychics and dragons, but unfortunately we are not currently doing any work in either of these areas! I am therefore returning your bribe money, and I wish you all the very best in your quest for telekinesis, telepathy and dragons.” It seems that Victoria will not be getting to train dragons after all.
