It’s not something we are hearing for the first time. People have spotted religious figures or symbols in unexpected places many times in the past. Just a few days ago, a man in Italy captured pictures of a figure glowing through the clouds. The figure looks a lot like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The figure of Jesus Christ was spotted by Alfredo Lo Brutto on March 1st, 2019 when he was enjoying the sunset at his home in Agropoli, Italy.
The figure resembling Jesus Christ has gone viral
The figure appeared during sunset over the Tyrrhenian Sea when the sun rays broke through the clouds above the town of Agropoli. A lot of people enjoying the sunset were greeted with the fascinating view, but only Alfredo Lo Brutto managed to capture it on camera, according to Italian media. Though he is not that active on social media, Alfredo shared the photos on Facebook.
According to The Daily Mail, Alfredo said, “I was enchanted by the view. I don’t often share pictures on social media, but when I took this one, I instantly felt like I wanted other people to see it, because it was so beautiful.” The pictures have since went viral on social media and have been picked up by many other media outlets. One Facebook user said, “So blessed to see this, thank you for sharing it with the world.”

The pictures remind you of the Christ the Redeemer, which is a 125 feet tall statue built on a rock near Rio de Janeiro. Many Facebook and Twitter users quoted biblical verses to show their belief that it was an image of Jesus Christ. Some people also passed on sarcastic comments or made fun of the religious figure.

Not the first time
There have been many similar instances of people spotting religious figures in the past in unusual places. Back in 2017, a Pennsylvania couple said they saw an image of Jesus Christ in their baby’s ultrasound. They saw a man dressed in a robe with a crown of thorns watching over their child in a pregnancy ultrasound.
“When they gave it to us… Umm, to me, it’s Jesus. And it looks like Jesus,” said the mother Alicia Zeek. Zachary Smith, the father, told media, “I was speechless, I just couldn’t believe it, I really didn’t believe what I was seeing.” The couple had complications with two other pregnancies, so the image of Jesus in the ultrasound gave them comfort.
In another instance, a woman last year found the figure of Jesus Christ on a horseshoe crab shell that she had picked from a Texas beach. According to CBC 17, the woman named Cathy Rose Rader washed it and kept it to dry. After a few days, she got a divine message, “if you will wait, I will give you perfection.” Later, she noticed something on the horseshoe crab shell that “looked like the face of Jesus.”
Earlier this year, actor Jonah Hill of Superbad changed his looks and people instantly started pointing out that he looked a lot like Jesus with a long hair and long beard.
