The chatter about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 has become louder than before. The Korean company has already unveiled the processor that would power its upcoming flagship. And we have seen a bunch of leaks related to the device. Now the often reliable Chinese tipster Ice Universe has shared pictures of the Galaxy S10 screen protectors, revealing the phone’s front design.

Why these Galaxy S10 screen protectors could be the real deal

The new Galaxy S10 screen protectors suggest the phone would look notably different from another leak by the same tipster. Ice Universe said that that leaked image was inaccurate in many aspects. The tipster believes the screen protectors reflect the accurate design of Samsung’s flagship. The phone will likely debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in late February next year.

Ice Universe has a proven track record with the smartphone industry leaks. The Chinese tipster is well connected within the Asian supply chain. Ice Universe described that the “protective film manufacturers” won’t manufacture accessories if they are not “fully grasped.” They will suffer economic losses if they get the shape data wrong. So, the Galaxy S10 screen protectors leaked by Ice Universe should be as close to the real deal as possible.

The Galaxy S10 screen protectors are nearly identical to the 3D glass screen leaked last month. They have an incredibly slim top bezel, though you can still notice the bezel at the bottom. The screen protectors also suggest that the S10 will have a slightly different kind of notch. Samsung’s notch cuts into the top bezel instead of into the screen, which should result in a smooth and uninterrupted user experience.

The Galaxy S10 screen protectors also appear to have rounded corners and curved edges. According to the rumor mill, Samsung will launch four different models of the S10. The cheapest of them – which will compete with the OnePlus and Xiaomi handsets – is said to have a flat screen instead of an edge display.

This one might not be accurate

Earlier this week, Ice Universe had shared a different variation of screen protectors. It had an ugly hole near the top-right corner – most likely to accommodate the dual front cameras. This design doesn’t look realistic. Ice Universe said in another tweet that many aspects of that design were wrong, and it’s unlikely to resemble the final version of the Galaxy S10 or S10 Plus. Samsung has showcased its Infinity-O display which has a hole for the front camera. The company could introduce the technology with future smartphones.

Separately, Qualcomm has unveiled its next-gen Snapdragon 855 processor, which will likely power the US variant of the Galaxy S10. The international version would run Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 processor. The Snapdragon 855 comes with a 5G X50 modem and Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Sensor, which would allow users to securely unlock the device by placing their finger on the screen. The Snapdragon 855 will also have a multi-core AI engine to take care of AI-related tasks. The new AI engine is three times faster than the Snapdragon 845.

The Galaxy S10 is long rumored to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Samsung will also launch a fourth variant of the S10 with 5G technology and other bells and whistles. Samsung has partnered with Verizon and AT&T in the US, allowing the carriers to sell its 5G smartphones via their stores. AT&T said it would also work with Samsung to create a manufacturing technology-focused 5G “innovation zone.
