Reviews of Apple’s new iPad Pro are coming out now as reviewers report various new things about the new device. The most-anticipated detail was regarding the use of magnets, and one user reported a pretty interesting thing.
Lots of magnets
According to one Twitter user, the new iPad Pro can be easily attached to a fridge door, thanks to the magnets in it.
When announcing the new iPad Pro, Apple revealed that it had used over 100 magnets in the new tablet. The reason for using so many magnets is to attach the new Smart Keyboard Folio. The use of magnets ensures that the Keyboard Folio is fixed well inside. In addition to the iPad, Apple has also placed magnets in the Smart Keyboard Folio so that it sticks to the device as intended.

With so many magnets inside, unique uses were already expected, including attaching it to a fridge door. However, it is advised that users do not try this at home, or if you ever try it, then try not to leave it there for a long time or put a cushion or pillow on the floor under it in case the magnets lose their strength.
Specs of the new iPad Pro
The new iPad Pro devices are inspired by the latest iPhone. The new iPad Pros have smaller bezels around the screen. Apple claims the bezels on the new iPad Pro are about 25% thinner than those on its predecessor. The new iPad Pro comes with an 11-inch Liquid Retina display in the same form factor as the earlier 10.5-inch model.
The tablet has no Home button or headphone jack. Like the new iPhones, the new iPad features a new gesture-based interface and Face ID. Face ID will let you secure and unlock your 2018 iPad Pro using the front camera. Apple’s new iPad is powered by a seven-core GPU and fresh A12X Bionic chip, which can handle 5 trillion operations per second. The chipset has four efficiency cores, four performance cores and an improved Neural Engine.
The 2017 iPad Pros used the A10X chipset. Apple claims the new iPad Pros are about 92% faster than all portable PCs and two times faster in graphics performance than their predecessors. The company also claims the new iPad’s battery can run up to 10 hours on a single charge.
The new iPad Pro has a 7 MP FaceTime camera, which is the same as last year’s models. However, the new iPad has the TrueDepth camera sensors for Face ID technology. The new tablets also have Portrait Mode, Animoji, and Memoji features. The rear camera is also the same as the 2017 iPad Pros — a 12 MP lens with an f/1.8 aperture. The camera shoots 4K videos at 60 frames per second and slow-motion videos in 720p at 240 fps. However, the new iPad lacks optical image stabilization.
Pricing, availability and other details
Apple’s new iPad Pro is available in two sizes: 11 inches and 12.9 inches. The smaller variant starts at $799, while the bigger variant starts at $999. The Mac mini starts at $799, while the MacBook Air starts at $1,199.
Like the earlier models, the new iPads are available in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+Cellular variants. The storage options available are 64 GB, 25 6GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. There is no microSD card slot. The new tablets sport USB-C ports, allowing users to attach the iPad to external displays. There is also a new charging out feature that allows you to use the new iPads as a battery pack for other devices.
If you missed the pre-order window, shipping times for most of the variants now show estimated delivery dates between the last week of November and into December. The delivery time the MacBook Air is mid-November, while the Mac mini is still showing delivery times of this week.
As far as accessories, the new iPad has a new Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. The new Apple Pencil attaches to the tablet magnetically and charges automatically when attached. The Apple Pencil also has new shortcut features. For example, double-tapping the pencil will help switch tools while doodling. The Apple Pencil costs $130, while the Smart Keyboard Folio costs $200 more.
