ISM Manufacturing Index is based on surveys of more than 300 manufacturing firms by the Institute of Supply & Management. PMI = Purchasing Managers’ Index is an indicator of the economic health of the manufacturing sector based on five major indicators: new orders, inventory levels, production, supplier deliveries and the employment environment.
