Apple revealed three new iPhones on Wednesday, and with the new iPhones come new wallpapers. You can now download iPhone XS wallpapers and XS Max wallpapers free from below.

Almost everyone will agree the new wallpapers look stunning on the iPhone XS’s and XS Max’s OLED displays. Attracted by their beauty, someone extracted them from the iOS 12 Golden Master release and uploaded them to the Internet for anyone to download. Twitter user AR72014 shared the new wallpapers.

Apple’s new wallpapers are entitled Bubbles. The title refutes the speculations that the image shown on them is of a planet. Moreover, they are Live Wallpapers, meaning that they animate. All the new wallpapers smartly cover the notch by blacking out the top.

These wallpapers can be downloaded as a pack for the iPhone XS and XS Max and for the iPhone XR, which won’t be released until next month. Most of the new wallpapers are optimized for an OLED display, but the fact that they look stunning anyway is a good enough reason to put them on your current device.

To download iPhone XS wallpapers and XS Max wallpapers, just right-click or long-press on the image of your choice from below and select “Save” on iOS or “Save image as” on macOS.

After you download iPhone XS wallpapers and XS Max wallpapers, you can set them as your wallpaper by opening the image in the Photos app on iOS and then clicking the share icon in the lower-left corner. From there, chose “Use as Wallpaper” and select “Perspective.”

Shot on iPhone XS video

Along with announcing the new iPhones on Wednesday, Apple also shared its first “Shot on iPhone” video. The video includes images shot from the iPhone XS, underscoring the capabilities of the handset and how professionals can effectively use it. Apple’s latest video is entitled “Shot on iPhone XS — Experiments in 4K, Slo-mo, and Time-lapse.” It was shared on Apple’s YouTube channel as an unlisted video. Unlike the usual Apple promos showing content captured with the new iPhone, this new video takes viewers through the filming process.

In the video, two iPhone photographers, Donghoon J. and Sean S., are seen experimenting with photographic processes, materials and artistic techniques to create amazing effects.

“A first look at stunning video shot on the new iPhone XS – the highest quality video of any smartphone,” Apple says. “Water, fire, metal and light were used to create these mesmerizing scenes using 4K, Slo-mo, and Time-lapse.”

First, the two photographers are shown taking top-down slo-mo shots of water drops bouncing on hydrophobic material. The way the shots are taken creates a mesmerizing effect. Next, the pair experiments with soap, water and corn syrup. Mixing it all creates a colorful scene similar to the marketing images used by Apple for the new iPhones. In their next experiment, the photographers use fire and steel wool, highlighting the iPhone XS’s ability to take images in low-light.

Can the iPhone XS camera beat Android rivals?

Phil Schiller, Apple’s SVP of product marketing, detailed the camera technology used in the new iPhones and explained the improvements at this week’s event. Schiller even went on to declare that the iPhone XS will hail “a new era of photography.” It will be interesting to see how true Schiller’s claims turn out to be when the iPhone XS and XS Max are released next week. However, with what we have seen lately, it will be a good fight.

Android manufacturers are coming up with their own quality cameras, enough to challenge and even overtake the iPhone’s supremacy. Google’s Pixel line is a good example of how one camera can beat others on the market in terms of pure image quality. Handsets like the Galaxy S9 Plus and Huawei’s P20 Pro have proven to be very effective in low-light performance.

No doubt the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X have very good cameras, but they are certainly not the best overall. It remains to be seen how the iPhone XS performs in the supremacy battle between Android and iOS, especially considering that the XS’s main camera has 1.4µm pixels, compared to 1.22µm in the iPhone X and same as the Google Pixel 2.
