The Care2 petition, penned by Rebecca G., launched after CBS Corporation announced they will not take action against Moonves although they did retain two law firms to investigate the claims.

Moonves responded to allegations saying, "I may have made some women uncomfortable by making advances".

“CBS says it is running its own investigation of the allegations, but so far all we've seen is the same tired PR moves to protect a powerful abuser,” writes Rebecca G. on her Care2 petition.  “Moonves' alleged decades-long behavior has had severe and lasting consequences for the many women who reported assault, harassment, and professional retaliation for coming forward.”

Care2 has hosted numerous petitions supporting the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements.

A Care2 petition in partnership with Vanessa Carlton calling for the removal of Grammy President Neil Portnow after telling female musicians, “to step up” was successful in leading to him stepping down in 2019.

Another Care2 petition was declared successful after Casey Affleck did not present Best Actress at the Oscars amid multiple harassment allegations.  A third Care2 petition was declared successful after actor Danny Masterson was ousted from Netflix’s “The Ranch” following rape allegations from four different women.
