Xbox One Games To Expect At E3: Crackdown 3, Gears Of War 5 And More

Updated on

The much-awaited E3 trade show is just around the corner. Rumors about Xbox One games that could be unveiled at E3 have been circulating for weeks. Microsoft has the world’s most powerful gaming console in the form of Xbox One X. But it lags behind Sony in terms of successful exclusive titles. The software giant is working to address the issue by bringing a number of first-party and third-party titles at E3. Microsoft is expected to talk about Crackdown 3, Gears of War 5, Hitman 2, Halo 6, and other games at the show.

Unlike its rivals, Microsoft has tried to keep its E3 plans tightly under wraps. The Redmond company will kick off its E3 show by holding a press conference on Sunday, June 10 at 1 PM PT (4 PM ET). The Xbox One E3 briefing is scheduled to take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The company will stream the event through Xbox One, Mixer, and Xbox’s official Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch pages. People attending the event will also be able to enjoy hands-on gameplay and demos.

Recently, Walmart Canada accidentally leaked a bunch of unannounced games, and at least two of them have already turned out to be legitimate. Here’s a list of games Microsoft could talk about at the E3 briefing this Sunday.

Crackdown 3

Microsoft initially announced Crackdown 3 at the E3 show of 2014, but the game hasn’t been released yet. It has already seen multiple delays, and Microsoft told Windows Central that Crackdown 3 has been delayed once again. The open-world shooter is now scheduled to release in February 2019.

The company said the Crackdown 3’s signature antics and explosive gameplay has received “incredible” response from fans. To ensure top-class experience, Microsoft has delayed its release to February 2019. However, the Xbox maker promised to share more details on the Crackdown 3 at the E3 press briefing. An inside source told Windows Central that Microsoft wants to “elevate Crackdown as a franchise” to place it alongside the likes of Forza, Halo, and Gears of War.

Gears of War 5

Walmart Canada spoiled many surprises by revealing a bunch of Xbox One games last month. Unsurprisingly, the list includes Gears of War 5. Other leaked games were Rage 2, Just Cause 4, Dragon Quest 2, and Borderlands 3. There have been speculations that Gears of War 5 will not be the only title in the Gears franchise. There could be as many as three more titles.

Hitman 2

No surprises here. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has already announced the Hitman 2 via a pre-E3 video stream on its site. Hitman 2 will be a direct sequel to the Hitman. It will bring “hyper-detailed sandboxes full of living, breathing environments,” said Warner Bros. The developer revealed that everything in the environment could be deadly. It will revolve around Agent 47’s past. Hitman 2 will also feature a Sniper Assassin mode that will allow gamers to jump into the series with another player to work together. The game is set to release on Xbox One, Windows PC, and PS4 on November 13th.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The list of games leaked by Walmart Canada included a new Assassin’s Creed title. The leaked list didn’t mention a number or a subtitle for the game. But JeuxVideo reports that the new game will be called Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Microsoft also confirmed the existence of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but we’ll have to wait until E3 for further details about the title.

Forza Horizon 4

Walmart Canada’s list said there will be a “Forza Horizons 5.” But it seems like a typo rather than the next game in the series. The last title in the franchise was Forza Horizon 3, which debuted in 2016. Microsoft has been refreshing its racing franchise every other year since 2012.

Halo 6

The last proper Halo game was released in 2015 as Halo 5: Guardians. Microsoft and 343 Industries are expected to announce Halo 6 at the E3 show. However, the game is unlikely to release before 2019.

There could also be a handful of other third-party and multi-platform titles. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Battlefield 5 at Microsoft’s E3 briefing.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has kicked off a massive Xbox sale for its fans. The company is offering up to 75% discount on Xbox One consoles, services, games, and accessories.
