The iPhone X was no doubt one of the most revolutionary phones to release this generation, but as we’re getting further into 2018 there are a number of phones that are starting to challenge the phone’s dominance. With the Vivo Nex just revealed, how does a Vivo Nex vs iPhone X battle turn out? Let’s take a look.
Vivo Nex vs iPhone X: Price
Before we get into the specifics of the different technologies that the phones have to offer, it’s important to note that there is a significant price difference between the two phones.
With the iPhone X retailing for close to $1000, it’s one of the most expensive phones on the market and has the specifications to match it. With one of the fastest speeds on the market, a beautiful display, and innovative FaceID technology it’s truly one of the top offerings on the market.

When comparing the Vivo Nex vs iPhone X, however, it’s clear that the Vivo is designed with a more moderate budget in mind. Though it is still relatively pricey at around $700, it’s important to note that these phones aren’t competing on quite the same level.
If you’re looking for the ultimate in luxury, you’ll probably be best off with the iPhone X, but the Vivo Nex is a formidable phone in its own right and can provide some stiff competition to the majority of phones on the market.
Vivo Nex vs iPhone X: Performance
One of the key aspects to consider when deciding between the Vivo Nex vs iPhone X is the performance. While the Vivo Nex was just announced and not many people have gotten their hands on the phone to try it, we can hazard a guess at how it will perform by taking a look at the specifications.
When comparing an Android device vs an iPhone, it’s important to note that a 1:1 spec comparison is next to impossible. Short of a benchmark test, it will be difficult to quantify just how much faster one phone is over the other due to the different technologies used to power the phone.
One thing worth noting, however, is that the Vivo Nex will ship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. This is an older processor at this point, as the current generation of Qualcomm chips is the Snapdragon 845. When compared to Apple’s processor, it’s pretty clear that the Vivo Nex will fall behind just due to the older technology.
While the Vivo Nex does have more RAM at 6GB vs the iPhone X’s 3GB, the performance will likely swing in Apple’s favor when comparing the Vivo Nex vs iPhone X just due to the superior quality of the processor.
There’s certainly the possibility that we’ll be surprised, but a cursory glance at the specifications suggests that the iPhone X will continue to dominate in terms of performance.
Vivo Nex vs iPhone X: Battery And Hardware
One way in which the Vivo Nex does excel, however, is with the battery. With a 4000 mAh capacity vs the iPhone X and its 2716 mAh capacity, it’s looking likely that the Nex will last longer on a single charge than the Apple device.
With that said, the iOS operating system is generally regarded to be more battery efficient than Android, so it’s certainly possible that the iPhone X could hold its own in this battle as well.
It’s safe to say that either phone will last all day on a single charge, but if you’re looking for a phone that can hold up to more intense use over the course of the day, the Vivo Nex may be your best bet.
In terms of storage, the iPhone X has 64GB and 256GB variants while the Vivo Nex falls right in the middle with 128GB of internal storage.
For those looking for dual-SIM functionality, the Vivo Nex is the clear winner with 4G/LTE capabilities in both slots as the iPhone X does not support that feature at all.
Vivo Nex vs iPhone X: Camera
The Vivo Nex vs iPhone X battle in terms of camera quality is actually quite close, although the Nex does seem to slightly edge out the X with an 8-megapixel camera vs 7-megapixel. Both phones have a 12-megapixel snapper on the rear of the device so the image quality shouldn’t differ too much between the two devices – at least in terms of the capability of the lens.
With that said, there’s something to be said for the camera software as well. We know next to nothing about the software that will handle Vivo Nex photos, and because this Vivo Nex vs iPhone X camera battle is so close the verdict could really go either way.
Vivo Nex vs iPhone X: Verdict
Although the Vivo Nex is a little bit more affordable than the iPhone X, it’s not cheap enough to justify the slower chip that will likely lead to significant decreases in performance when compared to similarly priced phones – let alone the iPhone X.
The Vivo Nex has some advantages, but in the battle with Apple’s latest and greatest, it falls short. The iPhone X is the clear winner.
