The Tesla air filters are some of the most advanced ever created, leading the company to even describe them as a Model S and X bioweapon defense mode.

With Tesla’s latest vehicles, they put a lot of work into the Tesla air filters – making them some of the most advanced to ever be placed inside a car. They do a lot not only to contribute to the reduction of local air pollution by developing electric vehicles, but also to protect the users inside from air pollution due to the Model S and X bioweapon defense mode.

The automaker claims that the Tesla air filters are 10 times larger than a normal car filter, and it is “100 times more effective than premium automotive filters,” removing “at least 99.97% of fine particulate matter and gaseous pollutants, as well as bacteria, viruses, pollen, and mold spores.”

It’s easy to see, then, how the Tesla air filters could be used to contribute to some sort of Model S and X bioweapon defense mode – especially given that the filters are so powerful that they can block viruses and bacteria from getting inside the car.

While day to day usage will probably not necessitate some sort of Model S and X bioweapon defense mode given that we’re not exposed to that very often, the fact that the Tesla air filters are powerful enough to potentially protect from an event like that definitely goes to show the company’s commitment to not only protecting the environment but to protecting those within from the environment itself.

Elon Musk credited Google co-founder Larry Page for giving him the idea, and the model X that was released back in 2015 was shipped with a new HEPA air filter system.

While the Tesla air filters have been implemented for quite some time at this point, the robust capabilities of the Model S and X bioweapon defense mode have come back into the forefront this week as an owner tweeted about the car helping out his daughter who suffers from severe asthma.

Musk shared the tweet and gave more information about the features, as well as stating that the Tesla Model 3 air filters wouldn’t be quite as powerful as the ones included in the X and S. He did say, however, that they would be the “second best” and will still likely provide a significant amount of filtration.

While having Tesla Model 3 air filters that aren’t as powerful may be disappointing for some, it’s understandable given the expense and technology required to implement such a feature. For the majority of people, an air filter that can eliminate such a huge amount of pollution isn’t necessary and it would probably contribute a good amount to the final cost.

We do get the sense, however, that the Tesla Model 3 air filters will be nearly as good – solidifying nearly all of Tesla’s vehicles as some of the best in the industry when it comes to protecting their passengers from pollutants.
