Retailer Accidentally Reveals Galaxy Note 9 Pre-order Details

Updated on

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is the next big launch from the company, and as always, we have plenty of rumors and reports talking of its specs, features, release date and price. However, the latest leak reveals the Galaxy Note 9 pre-order details.

A gift with Galaxy Note 9 pre-order

The latest leak comes from a South Korean retailer KT Plaza Shop, which accidentally posted Galaxy Note 9 pre-order details before promptly deleting them. However, in this internet era, someone was even quicker to take screenshots of the details before the retailer deleted them. Those screenshots were later shared on Twitter.

As per the screenshots, Samsung will release three variants of the Note 9. The smallest version will come with 64GB of internal storage, while the biggest will have 512GB of internal storage. The third version, as you would have guessed, will have 256GB of internal storage. So far, there are rumors of two or three different versions of the Note 9. Now that KT Plaza Shop has listed three variants, it is very possible that the Note 9 will come in three versions. Also, there are reports that the 512GB would be limited to China and Korea only.

It’s worth noting that KT Plaza Shop’s leaked renders show rounder corners than the recently leaked images. So, many believe that the images from the retailer might be of older phones like the Note 8. The latest images offer no more information except for each phone’s model number and storage size. There are no pricing details either. One of the images, however, does talk about the Galaxy Note 9 pre-order, saying users pre-ordering the device will get some kind of gift – a free DeX dock.

Other recent rumors

Last week, a tweet from reputable tipster Ice Universe claimed that the Note 9 would come with a bigger battery than the earlier version. Ice Universe tweeted that he is “100 percent sure” that the upcoming handset will sport a 4,000mAh battery. Supporting rumors of a bigger battery is a discovery by GalaxyClub that the Korean company is working on a faster wireless charger for the Note 9.

Tipster Ice Universe also tweeted an image of the Galaxy Note 9 case, suggesting that the flagship won’t come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, Samsung may reposition the fingerprint scanner under the centrally-positioned dual camera sensor. The leaked image of the case also revealed that the handset would have a new hardware key on the left-hand side, possibly a camera shutter button.

Another recent rumor comes from 91Mobiles and OnLeaks in the form of leaked images. The images show that the Galaxy Note 9 will be very similar to the Note 8 in terms of the design. Dimensions of the upcoming handset are claimed to be 162x76x8.8mm, suggesting it will be marginally shorter, wider, and thicker than the Note 8.

The increased thickness will probably mean a bigger battery (Note 8 has a 3,330mAh battery). However, the leak claims that the Note 9 would sport the same 6.3-inch display as before. The camera set up for the Note 9 is expected to be the same as the Galaxy 9+. Also, the Note 9 is expected to pack the same Snapdragon 845 internals as the Note 8.

Further, rumors are that the Note 9 would come in several color options. It is possible that there would be black or silver versions, and maybe a blue version would be U.S. specific, while others like golden-brown and purple would be made available in Asia.  The Note 9 is also expected to get Bixby 2.0 and an improved dual-lens camera, like one with the HDR video recording.

Talking of the release date, there are reports that the Korean company has delayed the Note 9 owing to some last-minute design changes. A report from The Bell claims that the company is making some design changes after seeing the latest devices from Oppo and Xiaomi. Samsung reportedly wants to lower the thickness of the handset by squeezing the display cover glass by 0.5mm.

All these rumors and leaks must be taken with a pinch of salt as nothing is confirmed unless Samsung officially approves it. Samsung is expected to hold an event on August 2 or 9, when the Korean company will showcase the Galaxy Note 9. The smartphone would then hit stores sometime later in the month.
