Apple’s New Pop Collection For Beats Solo3 And Powerbeats3 Adds Vibrant Color

Updated on

Apple has announced a new Pop Collection for the Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 wireless headphones.

The new pop collection brings a colorful and vibrant look to the Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3, and are are available in four new colors: Pop Magenta, Pop Violet, Pop Indigo, and Pop Blue. The Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 Wireless headphones are available for $299.95 and $199.95 respectively in the United States.

The fact that the new Pop Collection is the same price as the more muted tones of the Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 headphones is good news, and ensures that people won’t have to shell out more money than usual just to get the headphones that they like the best. With Beats being as much of a fashion accessory these days as they are headphones, it’s great that the colors are expanding.

Functionally, the Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 new Pop Collection perform exactly the same as the other models – only shipping with new colors. That means that if you’re happy with your current pair of headphones there is little reason to shell out for new models, as there aren’t any improvements in audio quality or anything of that nature.

After Apple bought Beats a few years back, they continued moving forward towards integrating them seamlessly with their ecosystem. While the AirPods may be one of the hottest products on the market at this point in time, the Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 offer superior audio quality in a lot of cases and can pair seamlessly with an Apple device. They aren’t nearly as minimalistic as the AirPods, but for those looking for superior audio quality it might be worth the extra price.

One of the most notable features of these two headphones is the ability to take advantage of Fast Fuel. These models allow for rapid charging of the device, providing up to 3 hours of playtime for the Beats Solo3 and an hour of playback for the Powerbeats3 with just five minutes of charging.

With the Beats acquisition costing Apple $3 billion back in 2014, they’re most definitely on track to recoup their investment as they further integrate these headphones with the rest of their ecosystem.

While the new Pop Collection is definitely a welcome addition to the product lineup, we’re left hoping for a new update to the headphones in terms of functionality, too. While Beats provides excellent audio performance, the headphones do fall behind competitors at a similar price point. The flashy branding may be enough to keep the Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 selling like hotcakes, but sooner or later they’ll need to bring the collection up to speed.

As mentioned above, the new Pop Collection will feature the colors Pop Magenta, Pop Violet, Pop Indigo, and Pop Blue. The Beats Solo3 and Powerbeats3 Wireless headphones are available for $299.95 and $199.95 respectively in the United States.
