Complete List Of Phones Samsung Is Releasing In 2018

Updated on

With Samsung being such a big part of the Android scene, it’s no wonder that they are quick to release phones at various price points. While many think of their flagships like the Note and S lines, the list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018 is actually quite impressive.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

All of the phones on this list outside of the Galaxy Note 9 have already been released, but many are still biding their time to pounce on what may be one of the most powerful phones of this generation.

Just like its cousin released a few months ago, the Note 9 will focus on improvements to the camera. Rumored prices currently peg it at over $1000, so it truly represents the best of the best when it comes to the list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018.

Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+

The Galaxy S9 was definitely a step up from the S8, but many people were left underwhelmed by the lack of fancy new features. It represents a significant bump in power and a number of camer improvements, but a lot of buyers couldn’t justify spending over $700 on a new phone that is only marginally better than its predecessors.

With that said, those who have made the jump and purchased the phone have generally been happy with their purchase, and while the sales numbers weren’t what the company was expecting, it’s still one of the most luxurious devices on the list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018.

Galaxy A6/A6+

While the Note 9 and S9 represent the best of the best from Samsung, the company also manufactures a number of more attractively priced models that trade some power and features for significant savings.

Despite being less expensive, both phones feature Super AMOLED Infinity Displays, 16MP cameras, and a battery size of at least 3000 mAj. For under $400, it’s a great combination of impressive specifications and value.

For the budget buyer, the Galaxy A6/A6+ are one of the most exciting options on this list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018.

Samsung Galaxy J6 and J8

If you’d like to cut the price of the phone even more, you can go for the Galaxy J6 and J8 which are just over $200 with decidedly less impressive specifications.

While you’ll still enjoy the Super AMOLED Infinity display, the cameras are less impressive on the J6 at 13MP — although the J8 still retains a combination of 16MP + 5MP rear cameras.

These phones will not likely be released in the US anytime soon, but a comparable option are the J7 and J3 which we discuss in more detail below.

Samsung Galaxy J7 and J3

The Galaxy J3 and J7 are on the lower end of power and features on the list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018, but they are still capable smartphones that will suit many people on a budget.

The J3 features a 5-inch HD screen, 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. The J7 is a little more upscale, with a 5.5-inch HD display, 13MP rear camera, and 13MP camera on the front.

The power specifications of the J7 remain unknown at this point, but the J3 has been confirmed as shipping with a Exynos 7570 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of storage, Android 8.0 Oreo, and a 2,600 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy J4

As one of the only entries on the list of phones samsung is releasing in 2018 that was launched specifically for the Indian market, the Samsung Galaxy J4 represents yet another budget option from the smartphone manufacturer.

The phone features a 5.5-inch HD display, an Exynos 7570 CPU, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of storage. Another option is available with 3GB and 32GB of storage for an additional price.

The camera has a 13MP rear sensor and a 5MP selfie camera, and the phone is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.

Galaxy S Light Luxury

The Galaxy S Light Luxury is one of the more surprising entries on the list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018, and is actually a rebranded and “lite” version of the 2017 Galaxy S8.

On the outside of the phone, the two devices look nearly identical. However, the internal technology has been reworked to be more mid-range and more affordable. You’ll find the Snapdragon 660, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage. The rear and front cameras are 16MP and 8MP, respectively, there’s a 3,000 mAh battery, an IP68 rating, and wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Series

Rounding out list of phones Samsung is releasing in 2018 is the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Series. Both the A9 Star and A9 Star Lite were announced for release in China in early June.

The A9 Star Lite is essentially a rebranded A6+, but the regular model of the A9 Star has some unique mid-range specifications.

YOu’ll find a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display, dual 16MP + 24MP rear cameras, a 24MP selfie camera, the Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 3700 mAh battery.
