In order to play music on HomePod with AirPlay, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Use your iPhone in order to launch the Home app. This app allows you to control all aspects of your HOmeKit-enabled accessories – and this includes the HomePod.

Step 2: Tap on the “location” icon in the top left corner of the Home app.Doing so will give you a variety of new options that you’ll need in order to play music on HomePod with AirPlay.

Step 3: Under the “Speakers” heading, select the “Allow Speaker Access” option.

Step 4: At this point, a new array of options should pop up. Select the “Everyone” option. However, if you’re worried about security you can toggle the “Require Password” toggle On and enter a password. This should keep random people from being able to play music on HomePod with AirPlay.

Once you’ve followed the steps above, you should be ready to go to play music on HomePod using AirPlay. Now, using an iPhone, iPad, or even a Mac, you should be able to share your music using the peer-to-peer connection on the HomePod.
