Red Dead Redemption 2
This Rockstar Games title is arguably one of the most anticipated games of this year. It is set to release on October 26th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was officially announced in late 2016. The teaser video suggests that it will be every bit as exciting as gamers wanted. The open world western would offer a twist on The Magnificent Seven. Unfortunately, the game has been delayed a couple of times, and might be delayed again.
Crackdown 3
The Crackdown 3 is expected to debut in the second- or third-quarter of this year. The action-adventure game was supposed to come out in November, but Microsoft delayed its release to improve the quality level. It will be available on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One. The Crackdown has been an amazing series, and Crackdown 3 release could help boost the Xbox sales, says Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. It is undoubtedly one of the best upcoming games of this year.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
The newest chapter in the Dragon Quest series is set to release in September for PlayStation 4 and Windows 10 PC. The game is said to feature a player-created hero who discovers that he is the reincarnation of a legendary warrior. It will also likely be released for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch, but the Switch version will arrive much later due to technical reasons.
Pre-orders for Dragon Quest XI are yet to go live, but Square Enix has revealed the pre-order bonuses for buyers. Those who pre-order it from GameStop will get a couple of in-game bonuses and a set of eight exclusive buttons.
Bayonetta 3
Bayonetta 3 is one of the most anticipated upcoming games, and it will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. In this all-out action-adventure, we will see the titular character punishing some naughty angels and demons. Developer Platinum Games hasn’t announced a release date, but it is expected to land towards the end of 2018. It is unclear whether Bayonetta 3 will act as a direct sequel to its predecessor.
Kingdom Hearts III
The third installment of Kingdom Hearts will arrive this year after more than a decade of waiting. Square Enix has been working on the game for years. It will take place after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Donald, Sora, and Goofy will be busy searching for the Seven Guardians of Light to eventually take on Master Xehanort, whose evil intentions were alluded to in the previous titles.
It will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One later this year, though a specific date isn’t confirmed yet.
Yoshi
Nintendo has had a stellar year in 2017 with the launch of Switch console and accompanying games. The Japanese company is set to release the much-awaited Yoshi later this year. You’ll be guiding Yoshi through a variety of layered worlds. What’s even more interesting is that you will be able to affect the background as well as foreground elements at will. Yoshi‘s camera-flip mechanic will also offer an innovative twist on its traditional platforming.
Tennis World Tour
The game is set to release on May 22, 2018. Published by Bigben Interactive, it will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Nintendo Switch. It has been designed by the same team as the Top Spin series. It will bring tournaments, career mode, customization, and much more. Fans will also get to create 20 players for offline game-play.
Jurassic World Evolution
It just has to be on the list of the best upcoming games. The title will be released for the PS4, Windows 10 PC, and Xbox One. Developed by Frontier Developments, the game will allow you to place yourself at the heart of the Jurassic franchise. You can bio-engineer dinosaurs that feel and think. You’ll get to build and manage your own Jurassic World. Even more interesting is that Jeff Goldblum will provide a lot of voice-over for the title.
Best upcoming games: Lego The Incredibles
The Lego-themed action-adventure title will be based on The Incredibles and The Incredibles 2 films. It will release in North America on June 15. The game will be available on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, as well as the Xbox One. You’ll have the opportunity to play as the super-hero Parr family with their unique powers to conquer crime.
