Although Android Oreo is the latest and greatest from Google when it comes to the most popular operating system around the world, it’s only available on a select number of devices. Following in the footsteps of AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 is receiving the Android Oreo Update.

If you’d like to install the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 Oreo Update, you can now do so – provided you have the space. The Oreo Update is quite sizeable, with an install size of 1.3 GB, so you may need to free up some space on your device if it’s chock full of photos you’ve taken using the excellent T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 camera.

The software version N950USQU3CRC2 will bring the Android Oreo Update to your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8, and you’ll be able to enjoy the latest conveniences added with the most recent version of the operating system. As mentioned above, only a small portion of Android devices are running Oreo, which means that your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 will be one of the few devices to bring features like picture-in-picture, notification dots, limits on background tasks in order to conserve battery life, and updates to the Always On Display.

While all of the features coming to the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 are significant, the aspects that most people’s le are excited about are the Picture-in-Picture mode as well as notification dots.

The Picture-in-Picture mode brings the ability to multitask on your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 to the next level. With the ability, for example, to watch a YouTube video while you’re browsing the web, the Android Oreo Update offers something unique that is distinctly lacking from competing operating systems like iOS. Being able to have multiple windows open at the same time is a major benefit for the average person and their busy lifestyle, and many people are often multitasking even during their leisure time – whether that’s reading an article and watching a video or getting some work done while browsing the web. Adding in Picture-in-Picture mode serves to make the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8 a much more fully-featured phone after the Android Oreo Update.

The other major addition to the Galaxy Note 8 coming with the update is the notification dots. This essentially allows for easier categorization of notifications, with some apps also allowing you to react to notifications simply by using the dots. With how many notifications that are coming in from various apps and messages, many Oreo Update users are enjoying the increased organization of their notifications as they go about their day.

Outside of these updates, the increase in battery life by limiting the amount of background apps should allow the phone’s already impressive battery life to extend even further. The extra battery life should give you the juice you need to enjoy the picture-in-picture mode to the fullest extent possible.

In order to install the Android Oreo Update on your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8, simply navigate to Settings > Software Update. Just make sure you have enough free space on your phone to support the new install!
