Hamilton Actor, Members of Congress Join Hundreds of Puerto Rico Advocates to Demand Accountability for Inadequate Recovery Efforts

Washington, DCHamilton actor Anthony Ramos will join Representatives Nydia Velázquez (D-NY-7), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL-4), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY-13), and members of the #Power4PuertoRico coalition at a rally in front of the headquarters of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The rally will mark six months since Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico and protest the federal government’s mismanagement of recovery efforts on the Island.

Hundreds of Puerto Rican families displaced by the hurricane will travel to Washington, DC from Puerto Rico and states along the East Coast. Their demands will include more decisive, effective and urgent action from federal agencies, in addition to oversight and additional resources from the White House and Congress to resolve the crisis caused by Hurricane Maria.
