The Google Store is currently offering a discount on the Google Pixel 2 XL – making it an attractive buy for those in the market for a new flagship.
As the company’s sophomore smartphone effort, the Google Pixel 2 XL has generally been considered a success. While there have been some bumps in the road and there are some problems with the phone to this day, it is an overall improvement over the original Pixel and offers another high-end smartphone to the luxury flagship arena.

The promotion for the discount on the Google Pixel 2 XL comes from the Google Store, and provides both a $200 refund and a free 18W USB-C charger – both of which combine to make a great promotion for those looking to upgrade to the latest flagship from this relative newcomer to the smartphone scene.
While this Google Pixel 2 XL refund is the latest and greatest in terms of discounts on the phone, it’s not the first time we’ve seen the flagships discounted by any means. Back in December of 2017, we saw a $75 discount on both the Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL, and current Nexus owners were given 20% discounts last month. For those looking to get their hands on this new flagship, there may not be a better time to buy than during this Pixel 2 XL sale.
As for the specifics of the Google Pixel 2 XL deal, customers will receive $200 back from the $850 cost of the 64 GB model. These are significant savings and essentially puts the XL model at the same price of the base Google Pixel 2. If you’re looking for more storage in the form of the 128 GB model, you’ll find the price reduced from $950 to $750.
Taking advantage of this promotion does come with a caveat, however. In order to save $200 on the Google Pixel 2 XL, customers will have to spread the payments for their phone out over 24 months – a payment plan with availability subject to credit approval. However, unlike most other stores, you’ll see an $200 statement credit after just two billing cycles – a rebate much faster than you’d see from deals from most cell service providers. If you were to buy the phone with a similar deal from another company, you’d likely see the $200 spread over the course of two years – savings which, while definitely welcome, aren’t quite as noticeable as a single lump refund.
In order to get your hands on the free 18W USB-C charger, you’ll just need to make sure to add it to your cart while purchasing the Google Pixel 2 through the online store. The cost will automatically be deducted upon checkout. The free cord wouldn’t be enough reason to take advantage of this deal in and of itself, but it’s a nice compliment to these savings on Google’s latest flagship.
Pixel 2 Options
We anticipate that the majority of customers will be taking advantage of this opportunity to purchase the Google Pixel 2 XL at a significant savings, but for those who would prefer the base Pixel 2, the deal for the free charter also applies. While this is a rare opportunity to score the Google Pixel 2 XL for the same price as the base model, the smartphone is pretty large. More and more consumers are looking for bigger display sizes and manufacturers are responding in kind, but for those of us who desire a more compact device, the Google Pixel 2 base model is certainly a viable option that packs luxury smartphone performance into a smaller sized phone.
A Limited Time Offer
If you’d like to take advantage of this Google Pixel 2 XL deal, make sure you head to the Google online store to make your purchase before March 31, 11:59 pm PT. This means it’s only a matter of days before this excellent deal is no longer available, so you’ll have to make the decision relatively quickly.
Not Without Flaws
While the Google Pixel 2 XL is no doubt one of the best flagships on the market, it is not without its issues. Users have reported problems such as the charging not working correctly in cold temperatures, a laggy fingerprint scanner, and a number of display issues. While the majority of issues will likely be addressed moving forward, it’s important to keep the problems in mind when making the decision as to whether you’ll take advantage of these Google Pixel 2 XL deals.
