Months After Shutting Hedge Fund, Whitney Tilson Holding $5K Full Day Seminar On Short-Selling “Don’t delay, as the heavily discounted early-bird rate”

Updated on

Presented without comment – from Whitney Tilson’s last email

This long bull market has inflicted absolute carnage among short sellers, and even seasoned veterans are throwing in the towel. This capitulation, however, combined with the increasing level of overvaluation, complacency, hype and even fraud in our markets, spells opportunity for courageous investors, so there is no better time for a conference focused solely on short selling.

On Thursday, May 3, I am hosting a full-day conference at the NY Athletic Club at which some of the world’s top short sellers will teach the hard lessons they’ve learned, reveal the questionable companies they’ve identified, and share their best, actionable short ideas.

14 speakers are confirmed:

  • David Einhorn, Greenlight Capital
  • Anthony Bozza, Lakewood Capital
  • Carson Block, Muddy Waters Capital
  • Andrew Left, Citron Research
  • Sahm Adrangi, Kerrisdale Capital
  • Ben Axler, Spruce Point Capital
  • Soren Aandahl, Glaucus Research Group
  • Enrique Abeyta, Project M Group
  • Chris Brown, Aristides Capital
  • Mark Spiegel, Stanphyl Capital
  • Chris Irons, Quoth the Raven Research and GeoInvesting
  • Gabriel Grego, Quintessential Capital
  • Berna Barshay, BGB Capital
  • Jonathan Tunick, Vitalogy Capital

You may not recognize some of these investors, but trust me, every single one is brilliant (and there will be another half-dozen by May)!

Until the end of January, the early-bird rate is $2,000 ($1,500 when combined with any bootcamp or seminar) ($5,500 for a 3-pack). Starting on February 1st, it will jump to $3,000 and then to $4,000 on March 1st.

To register, click here. Don’t delay, as the heavily discounted early-bird rate is only good until Wednesday. If you’re not sure whether you will able to make it, register now and then cancel if your plans change – the tuition is fully refundable until two weeks beforehand (4/19) and the registration is transferrable at any time.

If you’d like to learn more, please come to one of six free one-hour information sessions in midtown on January 30, February 21, and March 12 – each day from noon-1:00pm and 6:00-7:00pm. To RSVP, go to www.kaselearning.com. Videos from the information sessions earlier this month are posted on our YouTube channel here.

I’m delighted to tell you about the upcoming bootcamps and seminars where Glenn Tongue and I, as well as our guest speakers, will share the many lessons we’ve learned over decades in the value investing/hedge fund business.

Each month, Glenn and I will teach a four-day program, open to all (there is no application or selection process), that consists of two parts:

1) An intensive three-day bootcamp on Lessons from the Trenches: Value Investing, Entrepreneurship and Life, followed by:

2) A full-day seminar on How to Launch and Build a Hedge Fund.

Most folks will take it as a four-day program, but each part can be taken separately as well. Attached is further information about both as well as testimonials from all 13 participants in the first seminar last month.

The first bootcamp and seminar are on Feb. 6-9 (starting a week from Tuesday), followed by March 26-29, April 29-May 2, and July 8-11. All will be at the NY Athletic Club except the latter, which will be in Trani, Italy just before the 15th Annual Value Investing Seminar.

I’m also hosting a conference at the NYAC on May 3rd on The Art, Pain and Opportunity of Short Selling – see next email for details.

The April 29-May 3 bootcamp, seminar and conference are scheduled the week before the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting, so that those who wish can fly to Omaha on Friday, May 4 and hear Buffett and Munger the next day.

The tuition for the three-day bootcamp is $5,000 and the one-day seminar is $2,000, or $6,500 for both. To register, click here. Don’t delay, as we’re limiting the first bootcamp and seminar to only 24 participants, and will limit the others as well. Our programs are fully refundable until two weeks in advance and are transferrable at any time.
