Lou Dobbs Tonight Continues As Number One in both Total Viewers and A25-54 Demo

FBN Delivers Six of the Top Seven Rated Business Programs

FOX Business Network (FBN) delivered its highest-rated month ever in Business Day viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. As business news dominated the headlines, from the historic market highs to the government shutdown and President Trump’s visit to the World Economic Forum, FBN scored its eighth consecutive monthly win over CNBC. Averaging 255,000 Business Day viewers, FBN outpaced CNBC (203,000) by 26 percent during the month of January. Additionally, the network scored six of the top seven rated news programs on business television in total viewers.

Recording 21 months as the number one news program in business television, Lou Dobbs’ eponymous showLou Dobbs Tonight (7PM/ET) was once again the number one rated program across both total viewers (391,000) and the advertiser demo of 25-54 (51,000) in business television. Additionally,Varney & Co. (9AM-12PMET), Countdown to the Closing Bell with Liz Claman(3PM/ET), CAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2PM/ET), After the Bell (4PM/ET), andThe Intelligence Report with Trish Regan (2PM/ET), Risk & Reward (5PM/ET) all continued to place in the top 10 rated programs.

All of FBN’s core Business Day programs also saw considerable growth compared to last year, withCAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2PM/ET), The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan(2PM/ET), Countdown to the Closing Bell with Liz Claman (3PM/ET) and After the Bell (4PM/ET) all besting their CNBC competition in total viewers for the eighth consecutive month. Stuart Varney’s market-open program Varney & Co. (9AM-12PM/ET) dominated its CNBC competition for the 18th straight month, recording its highest-rated month ever in both total viewers (310,000) and the 25-54 demo (39,000). Additionally, Risk & Reward (5PM/ET) averaged 203,000 viewers, winning its timeslot for 16 consecutive months.

FBN’s pre and post-market coverage also notched double-digit gains year over year, withFBN:AM (5AM/ET) growing viewership by 29 percent. Maria Bartiromo’s Mornings with Maria(6-9AM/ET) posted a 35 percent increase over last year, and her coverage from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland bested its CNBC competition in total viewers the last week of the month during the crucial 7-9AM/ET hours. Additionally,Making Money (6PM/ET) increased viewership by 17 percent and Wall Street Week with Maria Bartiromo(Fridays, 8PM/ET) posted 47 percent gains.
