LG Monitors With Nano IPS Tech To Debut At CES 2018

Updated on

LG Electronics will launch the next version of its popular monitor series at the CES 2018. New LG monitors will be fitted with Nano IPS advanced color reproduction technology. Standing up to consumer expectations, the new monitors would back HDR 600 with a higher dynamic range of peak brightness and brand new connectivity options with Thunderbolt 3 compatibility.

New LG monitors – premium picture quality and performance

LG’s 32-inch class UHD 4K monitor – dubbed as model 32UK950 – is the first to have Nano IPS technology. In the said technology, nanometer-sized particles are applied on the screen’s LED to absorb excess wavelengths. The technology improves the intensity and purity of on-screen color for a more vivid viewing experience, claims LG. Further, the LG monitors would be capable of displaying 98% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, compared to the “monitors used to master Hollywood blockbusters,” LG said, in a press release.

Another new LG monitor is codenamed 34WK95U. It comes with a flat 34-inch 5K (5,120×2,160) Nano IPS display and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The monitor is compatible with the Thunderbolt 3 port, and can be used without a separate power supply. Also, a G-Sync Nano IPS gaming monitor – dubbed as 34GK950G – would debut at CES.

Tim Alessi, head of product marketing at LG Electronics USA said, “Most of us spend hundreds of hours in front of monitors every month, yet it’s one of the least likely products to get upgraded when higher productivity is desired.”

According to Alessi, the company aims to stand true to its commitment of delivering the best possible resolution and user experience across any workspace.

Other LG products to debut at CES

Monitors will not be the only new offerings from LG at the CES 2018. The Korean company is also set to showcase its latest smart air solutions during the event – a purifier with a fine dust sensor and an air conditioner with voice recognition and LG’s DeepThinQ artificial intelligence technology.

The LG PuriCare has a cylindrical design, which enables it to do 360-degree filtering. There is also a Clean Booster feature, capable of spreading clean air throughout the room and offering gentle airflow at the base. Even in standby mode, LG PuriCare can monitor the air quality and get activated when filtering is required.

The LG DualCool ThinQ Stand Inverter air conditioner will also debut at the CES. The air conditioner comes with voice technology, allowing users to control the temperature with a single phrase.

LG will also announce the refreshed Gram laptops at the CES 2018. The slim, lightweight laptops from LG will come in three variants – 13.3-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch models. The laptops will come packed with SSD storage and a second SSD drive slot.

According to LG, the newest Gram laptops would be more portable and performance oriented. Powered with a 72Wh battery, LG Gram laptops would offer longer battery time on a single charge, and would take around 10 seconds to boot. Based on 2014 MobileMark criteria, the battery of the 13-inch laptop would be enough to last for 22.5 hours. Further, the 14-inch laptop would last for 21.5 hours and the 15.6-inch model would run for 19 hours.
