Lou Dobbs Tonight Continues As Number One in both Total Viewers and A25-54 Demo

 

FBN Delivers Six of the Top Seven Rated Business Programs

 

FOX Business Network (FBN) scored its sixth consecutive month as the leader in business news, according to Nielsen Media Research. Following the release of the proposed GOP tax bill and the nomination of new Federal Reserve chairman Jordan Powell, FBN’s coverage of the highly business-dominated news cycle saw a 20 percent advantage over rival CNBC for the month of November, averaging 202,000 Business Day viewers compared to CNBC’s 168,000 viewers.

 

Marking its first ever monthly win over CNBC, Mornings with Maria (6-9a/ET) anchored by Maria Bartiromo bested CNBC’s Squawk Box in total viewers during the influential 6-9AM/ET pre-market hours with 107,000 business viewers compared to 105,000. Additionally, all of FBN’s core Business Day programs dominated their CNBC competition in total viewers. Varney & Co. (9a-12p/ET) recorded its  16th consecutive monthly win with 256,000 viewers, while CAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2p/ET ), The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan (2p/ET), Countdown to Closing Bell (3p/ET ), and After the Bell (4p/ET )  also bested their CNBC competition in total viewers for the sixth straight month.

 

During the month of November, FBN delivered six of the top seven rated news programs on business television in total viewers. Recording his 23rd monthly win in a row, Lou Dobbs’ eponymous show Lou Dobbs Tonight (7p/ET) was the number one rated program across both total viewers (336,000) and the advertiser demo of 25-54 (39,000) in business television. Additionally, Varney & Co. (9a-12pET), Countdown to the Closing Bell with Liz Claman (3p/ET), The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan (2p/ET), CAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2p/ET),  After the Bell (4p/ET), and Risk & Reward (5p/ET)  all continued to place in the top 10 rated programs.  Also, FBN’s pre-market program FBN:AM (5a/ET) saw double digit gains in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo compared to last year.
