OnePlus 5T Design Featured In New Rendering Leaks

Updated on

OnePlus is reportedly about to reveal its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5T, in about a month. The OnePlus 5T is rumored to be the first smartphone from this company to feature a design with smaller bezels than its predecessors, just like most of the competition this year. Earlier this week, we saw one leaked rendering, and now there’s another supposed rendering which of the OnePlus 5T design.

The rendered images of this OnePlus 5T design were originally posted on SlashLeaks. The renderings feature a near-bezel-less screen with rounded edges. What is interesting is that this rendered design of the OnePlus 5T resembles the Samsung Galaxy S8, mainly because of the color and bezel-less screen. There were even speculations that this image is just a Photoshopped OnePlus 5, but with the Galaxy S8’s bezel-less screen.

That being said, no one has confirmed the authenticity of the renderings. Again, if they are real, the OnePlus 5T design truly mimics the design of the Galaxy S8. What contradicts these suppsed rendering leaks are the earlier reports which suggested that OnePlus will not release the OnePlus 5T but instead will focus on its next flagship device slated for release in 2018, which is expected to be called the OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6 is rumored to feature a 6-inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080.

If the OnePlus 5T truly comes out, it is expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, given that Qualcomm didn’t announce any new model after the mentioned chipset. Next year’s model is also expected to have an 8GB RAM option and 128GB storage option. OnePlus should also improve the battery and camera, which is expected given that all major smartphones offered significant camera improvements this year.

Unfortunately, there is no official information regarding the release date of the OnePlus 5T, an accurate configuration, or even if it exists. It is also expected that OnePlus will launch this device as a worth rival for the Mi Mix and other devices with a similar build.

Should you wait to upgrade to the OnePlus 5T (if it exists) or buy the OnePlus 5 now? According to the rumors, the OnePlus 5T will only differ from the OnePlus 5 in design by featuring thinner bezels around the screen. The rest of the specifications, including the camera, hardware and the battery, should stay the same. The OnePlus 5 is one of the better smartphones this year, and it is in high demand. Thus, there is no reason to upgrade to the OnePlus 5 if the leaked renderings of the OnePlus 5T design are accurate.

What do you think about the leaked OnePlus 5T design? Do you think the renderings are authentic? Let us know in the comments!
