If you told your grandparents that there would be a mobile telephone that would be so intelligent it could respond to a tap, your voice, and even a glance they would probably laugh in your face. The iPhone X, pronounced "ten”, is set to release on November 3rd and it looks to be a very fitting way to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the iPhone. Boasting features such as a full-screen display, an all-new 'Super Retina' resolution, a reinforced glass design and support for wireless charging, there is a lot for smartphone lovers to be excited about. However, Apples new flagship device has caused much controversy for its pricing with the 64GB version looking to set you back $999 and the 256GB iPhone X rumoured to cost around $1,149.
Apples smartphone range has progressed over time with each successive generation of the iPhone adding new features and, in almost all cases, getting better. From the original iPhone that had a 480x320 resolution screen and a 2 megapixel camera, to the iPhone X that has a 2436x1125 resolution screen and two cameras, one that is 12 megapixels and the other 7 megapixels. The iPhone has changed dramatically over the last 10 years in terms of price, screen resolution, battery and storage, but where will it be in the next 30 years?
Well, what features can we expect from the iPhone 40? A flexible screen? An in-built projector? Digital assistant voice control? Augmented reality? 3D screens and holographic displays? Maybe somethings that haven’t even been thought of yet! To be honest we are not fully sure. All we do know is that its predicted to cost a massive $1,644, it could have a battery life as long as 66 hours of Audio, be able to store 260,000 songs and have a 26-megapixel camera! With competition getting ever greater from Google and Samsung and the iPhone 8 sales underperforming in comparison to the iPhone 6 and 7 releases, Apple has never been under more pressure to be innovative. It’s quite a while away we understand that, however, we can’t wait for you to look back at this article in 30 years and for us to say, “We told you so”
