iOS 11.2 Beta 1 Release Slated For Next Week

Updated on

iOS 11 has been out for just over a month now and users have had a chance to push the newest version of Apple’s mobile operating system to its limits. In doing so, we have seen some issues pop up with the software. Most recently there was the iOS 11 calculator bug but that was simply one issue on top of a handful that had already been discovered. Needless to say, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) needs to update their operating system and introduce a few fixes that have been dogging users. Can the iOS 11.2 Beta 1 release provide some hope?

Our Twitter Hero Returns

You may remember the name, Guilherme Rambo, from many Apple leaks earlier this summer. He’s back again with a look at the potential iOS 11.2 Beta 1 release date. According to him, the iOS 11.2 Beta 1 release can be expected by developers sometime next week. Of course, if you have the dedication, you should be able to install the beta build on your device even if you aren’t a developer. We will be sure to update to confirm once the release is official.

Will This Fix Everything?

Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. Of course, it would be nice to have every iOS 11 issue fixed in one go but it’s important to temper expectations. In the leaked image shared by Guilherme Rambo, in true Apple fashion, the bug fixes were listed as such:

This beta version of iOS 11.2 contains bug fixes and improvements

Not exactly very telling, is it? Hopefully Apple has been looking at some feedback from users and has a few timely fixes in place for the iOS 11.2 Beta 1 release.

More Battery Life?

One of the most common complaints among iOS 11 users has been poor battery life. There are a few workarounds that can help users squeeze a little bit of extra juice from their battery throughout the day but people want fixes, not workarounds. If Apple is able to improve battery life for iOS users that would relieve a large portion of the complaints about the latest version of iOS.

What About iOS 11.1?

Those of you that are not developers probably checked your device software version to make sure you didn’t miss a new update. With the iOS 11.2 Beta 1 release just around the corner this likely means that iOS 11.1 is coming shortly. You may even get the update in the coming days. Again, Apple has been vague about fixes and improvements so you may just have to install the update and take it for a test drive to see if you get better battery life out of your device.
