The first Google Pixel phones came out last year and proved to be much better than the previous Nexus phones. Although the demand for the first Pixel smartphones was high, they couldn’t stand up the fame of Samsung’s and Apple’s flagship phones. This year, the company has to craft the phones in a much more spectacular way to be able to stand up to its competition, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, iPhone 8/Plus and iPhone X.

This year, Google is trying to invent as many features as possible on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Despite the efforts to keep the Google Pixel 2 specs a secret, many leaks have scratched the surface, just like the case was with the Apple’s smartphones.

As all these Google Pixel 2 specs leaks are just unconfirmed rumors, we can’t claim that they are authentic. However, in this article, we will highlight these features and take a good look at the rumored Google Pixel 2 specs ahead of the launch date.

Google Pixel 2 XL

The Google Pixel 2 XL is rumored to feature a curved QHD screen, while some sources suggest that Google will follow the example of other giant companies such as Apple and Samsung and feature a near-bezel-less screen.

Many expected the Google Pixel 2 XL to have the never-before-seen Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 chipset. However, the chipset is now believed to be a myth rather than reality, and Qualcomm has never even announced that it exists. Thus, other sources believe that the Pixel 2 XL will be equipped with the Snapdragon 835, which nonetheless is robust and reliable.

It will probably come with two storage options, either 64GB or 128GB. Of course, the two models will differ in prices. Sources indicate that the aspect ratio of the screen will be around 85%. That being said, it is more likely that the near-bezel-less design will be reality instead of the rumored curved QHD display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the upcoming iPhone X.

Talk is divided on the headphone jack and speakers when for the Google Pixel 2 XL. Leaks over the last couple of weeks suggest that the new Pixel phone won’t feature dual stereo speakers and will not ditch the headphone 3.5mm jack. Still, other sources say that the Google Pixel 2 XL will follow its competitors, get rid of the headphone jack and feature the new dual stereo speakers. Several sources have it that the Google Pixel 2 XL will come out with USB-C headphones, although this is still not confirmed.

Like its predecessor, the Google Pixel XL featured a superb camera, and it is suspected that the Pixel 2 XL will not be an exception. Several rumors suggest that the Google Pixel 2 XL won’t feature a dual-lens camera. Instead, the dual cameras that were mentioned in the leaked documentation are said to apply to the rear and front cameras. It is important to note that the cameras are expected to come with OIS.

The phone is expected to sport a Wide Color Gamut and the Google Imaging Chip. Together with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), this is an excellent trio. Still, it is not confirmed that OIS will be present on both cameras.

Another rumored feature worth mentioning is the E-SIM card slot, which would enable users to connect to different networks without the necessity of adding a physical SIM card, similar to the Apple Watch Series 3. Other expected features include Google’s fingerprint scanner, the IP67 water and dust resistance and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Google Pixel 2

The rumored Google Pixel 2 specs suggest that the vast majority of features will be the same as the Pixel 2 XL. Still, a couple of things will likely be different.

The rumored Google Pixel 2 specs feature an almost durable design like last year’s Pixel phones. Still, it is undetermined whether Google will remove the 3.5mm headphone jack and add a dual stereo speaker system instead. It is important to note that the Google Pixel 2 probably won’t be removing the bezels, which is why leaks suggest that the dual stereo speakers will be located in the bezels.

The rumored Google Pixel 2 specs point to an FHD screen instead of the QHD screen that’s expected in the Pixel 2 XL. Unfortunately, it might not include the Wide Color Gamut that will likely make an appearance on the larger model. It is important to note that it is expected to feature a 2700 mAh battery instead of the 3520 mAh expected in the Pixel 2 XL. The rest of the Google Pixel 2 specs should remain the same as on the larger model.

According to leaked information from Droid Life, the Pixel 2 will come with a $649 price tag for the 64GB version, while the 128GB model will cost $749. The larger Pixel 2 XL is expected to cost $849 for the 64GB option, while the option with 128GB of internal storage will likely be priced at $949.
