BlackBerry Motion Preorders Started In The UAE And Saudi Arabia

Updated on

BlackBerry Motion preorders are finally open in the UAE and Saudi Arabia following the phone’s unveiling at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai.

The BlackBerry Motion features a different design than last year’s models. BlackBerry finally decided to get rid of the physical keyboard, at least for this particular model. BlackBerry’s new smartphone includes some new features for the first time, which can be a huge game-changer in the phone industry. One of those features is a massive 4,000 mAh battery.

It is worth mentioning that the IP certification rating and the IP67 dust and water resistance make their appearance on a BlackBerry device for the first time. That being said, don’t be bothered with your BlackBerry Motion getting soaked in the water, as long as that water isn’t deeper than 3.2 feet and it isn’t underwater for longer than 30 minutes.

BlackBerry Motion preorders started yesterday. Customers can order their BlackBerry Motion through Axiom Telecom and the phone will begin shipping on October 22. If you are concerned about the price, customers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia can get their BlackBerry Motion for Dh1,699 in the UAE, while in Saudi Arabia, the BlackBerry Motion will have a 1,699 riyal price tag ($469).

That being said, BlackBerry’s new smartphone will be released in other selected countries in the next few weeks. As you may know, BlackBerry specializes in software development now, so it won’t be a surprise if some of BlackBerry’s security software makes an appearance on the Motion. It already comes with a virtual Locker, which allows you to store documents. However, the locker requires a PIN code or a fingerprint. BlackBerry decided to add a fingerprint scanner and place it in the home button. It is also important to note that Android 7.1 Nougat will be pre-installed on BlackBerry’s new phone.

Other bells and whistles include a 1080 x 1920 resolution on the 5.5-inch display and the Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU. The 4GB of RAM will be more than enough to run more demanding applications, and it has 32 GB of internal memory to hold your favorite apps, games, and media on. It also doesn’t hurt to mention that this model supports dual-SIM cards.

If you don’t live in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, you will have to wait for BlackBerry Motion preorders to be available in your country. As for those from the UAE and Saudi Arabia, you can preorder your BlackBerry Motion here.
