Microsoft has announced that it will be making custom Xbox One S consoles with fan favorites celebrities and brands. For the first such console, it has teamed up with the DJ duo The Chainsmokers.

The console is every bit interesting, with rainbow colors glowing atop the white Xbox One S console and autographed Xbox controllers. The custom-built Chainsmokers Xbox One S converts sound into a changing light show with the help of a USB-powered processor. When fully lit up, it is not only a cool sight, but it also showcases the console’s 3D effect, according to Microsoft.
“We were really pumped to work with Xbox on this project and help bring our music to life in a new way, by combining it with the best gaming console in the world,” the duo said in a statement.
Further, the Chainsmokers said that although they were quite sure about all the incredible things that the team would do, the design blew their minds away.

Aaron Greenberg, GM of Games Marketing at Xbox, stated that throughout the years, he has seen many unique consoles, but nothing like this. Greenberg added that the Chainsmokers Xbox One S console is a true piece of art.
Microsoft will give away the custom console on Twitter. Fans will have an opportunity to get their hands on one by following the rules posted on the Chainsmokers’ Twitter account. To win, fans will need to tell in a tweet why they want the Chainsmokers Xbox One S console.
Microsoft stated that there are more custom consoles to come in collaboration with celebrities in various fields, such as sports, television, music, art, Hollywood and fashion. The company’s intent is clear: leaving no stone unturned in the quest to increase sales of its console. For now, Microsoft has not revealed who they are thinking about roping in for its next collaboration.
Xbox One S sold as Blu-Ray Player
The Microsoft Xbox One series has failed to outperform the PS4, especially in Japan. In Japan alone, there have been weeks when Xbox One sales have fallen below 100 units, notes DailyStar. Disappointed with sales, one Japanese retailer did something awful to get rid of the unsold units. Various pictures taken of the store suggest that the slim version of the Xbox One S is being sold as an Ultra HD Blu-ray player.

However, even being promoted as a movie player, it is doubtful that the Xbox One S can do better, given that the PS4 also plays Blu-Ray discs, and reviews are in favor of Sony by far when it comes to picture quality.
Microsoft hopes its next console will push sales in it favor. The Xbox One X will debut in November, and the company has claimed it is the most powerful console ever made. The Xbox One X, which is the smallest system that Microsoft has ever produced, will cost $500.
