The micro-blogging firm is now going to live-stream the total solar eclipse next week. Sensing an opportunity to attract more eyeballs, the micro-blogging company has entered into a business deal with the Weather Channel to help it live-stream the eclipse.

Twitter livestream will begin at 12 p.m. Eastern on August 21, and viewers will get to see live footage from cities in Missouri, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Kentucky, Illinois, South Carolina, Tennessee and Oregon. The event has already drawn interest from people around the world.
The astronomical event is the result of the moon’s shadow moving from the West Coast to the East Coast of the United States. At its fastest, the moon’s shadow will move at over 2,400 miles per hour, and live shots will also be taken at locations where totality will last the longest and the possibility of interesting occurrences exists.
Featuring several events
Meteorologists Ari Sarsalari and Demonica Davis will host the Twitter livestream. It will be high-resolution and include aerial drone footage from the Weather Channel’s network of storm trackers and real-time eclipse footage from NASA as well. The stream will also include a quirky game show and a Red Bull cliff-diving showdown under the eclipse’s shadow.
