It seems that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders are now imminent, with Samsung Australia now accepting pre-registrations for the Galaxy Note 8. A local outlet of Samsung Electronics has now set up a page dedicated to pre-registrations of the forthcoming phablet. While this is more of an information tool, keeping customers in the loop, it not only indicates that the Galaxy Note 8 is very much real, but also that it probably isn’t far away.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders will not be taken by Samsung for a little while, the new page is a stepping stone towards this event. Notable on this webpage is a teaser image that alludes to the upcoming Unpacked event, which has previously been announced by the South Korean mega-corporation. This indicates that the next generation Android phablet will be officially unveiled on August 23.
The filename of the image contained on the website also suggests that the Galaxy Note 8 will be branded as the “Galaxy Note8”. This stylized approach is akin to many previous consumer electronics products, but it is probably too early to assert this as an absolute certainty, even though it is implied by this pre-registration page. It would be logical, though, as it would represent a continuation of the product-naming process Samsung has already instigated in previous years.
More importantly, the image also gives us a strong impression regarding the design of the phablet. And above all else, it seems that the Galaxy Note 8 will benefit from the sort of slimmed down bezels which already appeared in the Galaxy S8. The screen of the device seems to wrap around the vertical edges of the case, while the top and bottom bezels included in the device are extremely minimal. This very much tallies with what has been expected by both the Samsung-following community and analysts in recent months.
With Android fans no doubt keen to put in their Samsung Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders, it will also be of interest that the Samsung Australia teaser page contains a previously unseen tagline that says “do bigger things”. While this is obviously open to interpretation, it strongly implies that the Galaxy Note 8 will be the largest smartphone that Samsung has ever released.
Previous rumors have suggested that the device will hit retail units with a screen measuring either 6.3-inches or 6.4-inches. This would be only marginally larger than the Galaxy S8 Plus, but it would still represent a slight increase in screen size. It would also be bigger than the rumored screen sizes of the iPhone 8 and Google Pixel 2.
In other Galaxy Note 8 news, Dutch site Galaxy Club believes that it has uncovered the camera module which will feature in the forthcoming phablet. The website did some serious investigation on Samsung’s semiconductor website, and believes that the camera unit to be included in the Galaxy Note 8 will be particularly impressive.
According to Galaxy Galaxy club, the Note 8 will benefit from Advanced features such as a 3x optical zoom, while an improved HDR mode will also be included. Samsung has yet to make any official remarks regarding the Galaxy Note 8 snapper, but the legendary analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already suggested that the Korean corporation will particularly focused on the photographic capabilities of the phablet.
Galaxy Club also suggests that a new refocus mode will be included in the Galaxy Note 8, and this will provide sophisticated depth recognition. With particular value in the 3D sphere, this new feature will enable Galaxy Note 8 users to blur particular parts of an image. It will also become possible to adjust objects within the frame of the camera, effectively displaying them as if they were being photographed from a different angle.
Another big plus point for the Korean developer as it seeks to attract Samsung Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders is the inclusion of a Super Night Shot mode. As the name would suggest, this new inclusion in the Galaxy Note 8 armory is intended to improve performance in low-light shooting conditions. Shooting in darker light can be particularly challenging for smartphone cameras, and has generally been a bugbear of mobile manufacturers.
It should be emphasized that these camera features may not all appear in the Galaxy Note 8. Both Samsung and Apple are continually working on innovations that can be held back for many years (or indeed never see the light of day at all). But it seems it reasonable to expect at least some of this functionality to be included in the forthcoming release.
Aside from these features, the phone should also include 6GB of RAM, 64GB of native storage, expandable via micro SD, and a beefed up S Pen stylus, possibly offering vibrational functionality and a new speaker system. With the smartphone expected to be released at some point in September, following its revelation in August, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders are not far away, after this pre-registration leak emerged.
