Plenty of Alexa voice deals to choose from
You need not wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday for amazing deals and good discounts, as Prime Day is as good as those sales. Amazon held its first Prime Day on its 20th birthday in the summer o 2015, and this year will be the third such event. However, you can take advantage of the deals only if you are an Amazon Prime customer. So you will either have to sign up for Prime or register for the 30-day free trial to get the benefits.
Though it’s called Prime Day, it is more than a one-day event. Amazon is offering different deals in the lead-up to the big day. The schedule for deals on the days leading up to the big day is: July 5 is for Voice shopping; July 6 for Amazon Music; July 7 for Prime Video; July 8 for Everyday Essentials; and July 9 for Reading with Prime. Prime Day starts in the evening on July 10, while July 11 is Prime Day.
Starting today, you can ask Alexa, “What are your deals?” to learn the available Alexa voice deals that day. The Alexa voice deals cover numerous products with varying discounts and benefits. For instance, the Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker III is on sale for $50 off, while the second-generation Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, which works with Alexa, is offered at $20 off.
The Wemo Mini smart plug can be bought for $7 off, while the original flavor of Greenies dog treats are available at a $6 discount. Popcorn lovers would love to know that they can get their favorite Wickedly Prime Sweet n’ Cheesy Popcorn Mix at a 50% discount. A 12-pack Haribo Gummi Bear is available at a 35% discount, while the “healthy” squatty potty is available for 30% off.
Voice shopping is a smart way to shop
Although the Amazon Prime Day sale starts July 11, voice shoppers will also be eligible for special deals two hours before the start of the main event, notes The Verge. In addition, your first order with Alexa comes with a $10 credit today.
Amazon is also offering a 20% discount on the $99 Prime membership if ordered via an Alexa device. This is a good example of how the company is using devices and voice platforms to enhance the sale of Prime memberships. Amazon even hosted a “Voice Shopping Weekend” in November.
In a statement, Amazon Prime VP Greg Greeley said, “Voice shopping is an exciting benefit exclusively for Prime members. Prime is better with Amazon devices like the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show. And our devices are better with Prime.”
