Live Stream

If you’re a regular member of the public and haven’t been invited to WWDC 2017, it’s likely that you don’t have tickets to attend. As such, you’re looking for another way to watch. Fortunately, if you’re an Apple customer with an iPhone, iPd, Macbook, Mac, Apple TV. Or have the WWDC 2017 app, you can watch the Keynote address and more at the Apple Developer Website.

This Live Stream is expected to start broadcasting at the same time as the event goes live. Which for the Keynote address is 10 am Pacific time, that’s 5 pm in the UK.

Mac OS 10.13

Apple is usually quite predictable when it comes to macOS updates, so we expect it to unveil the next version of the OS at WWDC 2017. As for what the version number, if Apple stays with its usual naming convention, macOS 10.13 is expected.

However, recent rumors have cast doubt on this, instead, pointing to macOS 11. Who’s correct? We do not know, however, as for a name, we’ve seen EL Capitan, Sierra, and Yosemite in recent years. Maybe this year it will be named after a fruit instead.

iOS 11

Yet an another certainty to appear at WWDC 2017 is iOS 11, it the next version of Apple’s mobile OS for iPhones and iPads. And, if all the rumors about it are true, fans of the system are in for a real treat this year.

As for what new features it will have, the rumors mill is as expected rife with news. Which includes possible new additions such as FaceTime Group Calls, a Dark Mode, Guest Mode, and more. You can read about more rumors and possible new features here.

New iPad Pro

While WWDC 2017 is primarily seen as a software event, in recent years there have been the odd hardware announcements. As such, rumors about hardware launching at the event continue to perpetuate.

One such piece of equipment thought to be making an appearance is a new iPad Pro. If true, it will be a more major redevelopment of the tablet than was seen earlier this year. With regards to detail, for now, there isn’t anything, however, as we get closer to June 5th, we may know more. As always, when we know you will too!

MacBook Updates

The Mac has not made an appearance at recent WWDC events. However, could the MacBook Pro 2013, MacBook Air, in fact, all three models be about to get a spot at WWDC 2017? According to Bloomberg, they may well be, being considered for an appearance.

Apparently, people who know about such things, expect the new models to include a 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Pro with the Intel Kaby Lake CPU to be unveiled.

WatchOS 4

Last year’s Apple Watch Series 2, along with the WWDC announced watchOS 3, have proven to be a hit with consumers. Recently, it was revealed that sales of the watch have doubled, meaning an Apple Watch Series 3 is positively likely. And it also means that WWDC 2017 will see an update to the operating system in the form of watchOS 4.

However, we don’t expect to see the finished article. Instead, it’s more likely WWDC 2017 will give developers a taste so that they can begin to develop the apps that improve upon last year’s incarnation. As for detail on new features, right now, there’s very little. It’s possible Siri may make an appearance, making the Apple Watch Series 3 respond to voice command, that’s all we know.

As always, we will keep you up to date with any leaks and news that may arise.
