Samsung dumped the bezels for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus earlier this year, and a new leak suggests it might do the same for the Galaxy Note 8. It comes in the form of a video posted on Twitter, although it gives very little detail away.
Is this the display for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8?

The video doesn’t really reveal all that much, although the panel looks to be a sibling of the Infinity panels that were used for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. As such, it’s plausible that this will be the display used for the Galaxy Note 8, but if you read the comments on the tweet, the tipster notes that they didn’t say that the leak is true and that they’re not sure if it’s true.
The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have a display that’s one-tenth of an inch larger than the massive Galaxy S8 Plus. It’s also expected to have an aspect ratio similar to that of the Galaxy S8, which is 18:5:9.
Dummy version of the Galaxy Note 8 also leaked
Leaks about the Galaxy Note 8 are coming fast and furious these days, and in addition to the video that supposedly shows the handset’s display, some images which purport to show a dummy of it were also leaked this week. The images appeared on Chinese social network Weibo, as so many gadget leaks do these days.
The dummy also shows a vertical camera with a dual-lens setup and, of course, the S Pen Samsung has become known for in its Note range. Rumors have suggested a 12- or 13-megapixel camera. One thing is noticeably missing from the back, which is the fingerprint sensor. We’ve heard that Samsung may embed it in the handset’s display, so this dummy would appear to corroborate that rumor. Of course as with any tech rumor, it’s always best to take it with a grain of salt.
Given all the ado about Apple embedding the fingerprint sensor in the iPhone 8, Samsung would do well to work out the same thing in the Galaxy Note 8. After all, the Korean firm is under about as much pressure as Apple to do something amazing with it, although for a different reason.
