Microsoft Announces Free Xbox One, Xbox 360 Games With Gold For June

Updated on

Days before the end of each month, Microsoft Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners get excited about what games they will get to play for free next month. Bringing this suspense to an end on Tuesday, Microsoft announced the lineup of free Xbox Games with Gold for June.

Two free games and one bonus for Xbox One

Microsoft announced that the lineup of free games with Gold for June include not only four amazing games but a bonus piece of add-on content as well, according to IGN.

Xbox One owners who have a Gold subscription can get Speedrunners, a racing game, and Ubisoft’s open-world action game Watch Dogs.  Gamers will be able to download SpeedRunners all month long. The side-scrolling multiplayer title from DoubleDutch Games debuted on Mac, Windows PC and Linux in April 2016. Watch Dogs will be available for download from June 16 through July 15. It is a Chicago-based open-world action game from Ubisoft which released in 2014.

The bonus that Microsoft was talking about is for Xbox One users in the form of multiplayer DLC for the recently released Phantom Dust re-release. The game will be available for a full month. In addition, one of the games that was free with a Gold subscription in May, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, will continue to be free until June 15 on Xbox One.

Free games for Xbox 360

For June, the free titles on the Xbox 360 include Dragon Age: Origins and Assassin’s Creed III. Gamers will be able to download Dragon Age: Origins for free during the second half of the month, and Assassin’s Creed 3 will be available from June 1-15. Both games will be enough to keep you excited through the entire month.

The free game titles on the Xbox 360 for June can be played on the Xbox One through backward compatibility as well. If you download all four games (and the DLC), your savings will be about $100, and you could gain up to 4,000 gamerscore points, notes BGR.

It is hard to say which game will be the most popular this month, but Watch Dogs will definitely be the most recognizable for the majority of players. And don’t just wait for the June freebies; grab the remaining free games from the May lineup before they return to their actual prices.

Other deals from Microsoft

Meanwhile, you can also grab other lucrative deals on games from Microsoft Studios. You can save 50% on Gears of War 4 on Xbox One, while Gears of War 4’s Ultimate Edition is available at 40% off.  For Halo lovers, there is a lot on sale as well. You can get Halo Wars 2 at 35% off, Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition at 35% off, and Halo 5: Guardians’ Digital Deluxe version at 60% off, according to Gamespot.

These games will probably be enough to keep gamers occupied until E3, which is about month away. Though gamers are anxious to see what Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have in store for them for the holiday season, all eyes are on Microsoft, which is expected to introduce its Project Scorpio 4K console.
