Blue Is The New Gold: How Ecofiltro Is Purifying The Water Crisis

Updated on

Philip Wilson, CEO of Ecofiltro, discusses the lack of access to drinkable water and how his company is combating the issue.

According to Philip Wilson, 80% of global illness is caused by the lack of access to drinkable water. As the Founder and CEO of Ecofiltro, Wilson manufactures clay water purification filters for the “poorest of the poorest” Guatemalans and is expanding the operation to Mexico, Honduras and Costa Rica. The systems are made available to families for less than what is spent monthly on bottled water, which is roughly US$15. Wilson appeared on Knowledge@Wharton’s SiriusXM show during the Wharton Global Forum in Miami to discuss the issue of clean water accessibility and what his company is doing to combat the issue.

The Knowledge@Wharton show airs Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST, on Wharton Business Radio on SiriusXM channel 111.
