Samsung promised Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users last year that the Secure Folder app would be made available to them as a downloadable service once Android Nougat was rolled out. Many Galaxy S7 owners who have upgraded to Android Nougat are still waiting for the official Secure Folder app. But folks at SamMobile have gotten their hands on the Secure Folder, and the app teases the Galaxy S8 design.

SamMobile reported that the update lets you add a Quick Toggle for Secure Folder in the notification shade. When you install the app and launch it for the first time, it walks you through a short tutorial on how to use it. The tutorial includes a render that is similar to all the leaks we have seen about the Galaxy S8. It indicates that the next-gen flagship will have major design changes compared to the Galaxy S7.

The render shown in the Secure Folder app has no home button. The top and bottom bezels have been dramatically reduced. Though we have seen many leaks and renders, now we are getting a look at the Galaxy S8 from an official Samsung source. Recently, the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus was spotted on Samsung’s Singapore support page, but it was taken down within minutes. The handset was also listed in India a few days ago.
The Secure Folder app was introduced with the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 last year. The app allows you to store all your private content such as contacts, photos, videos, documents, and apps in a special folder. The folder opens only after your identity is authenticated using the fingerprint sensor. The app is expected to come pre-installed on the Galaxy S8.
Galaxy S8 spotted in its full glory
Noted tipster Evan Blass has obtained images of Galaxy S8 and LG G6 accessories showing the upcoming handsets in their full glory. While the LG G6 will be unveiled at the MWC later this month, Samsung’s phone is said to be announced on March 29th. The Galaxy S8 has an edge-to-edge display that covers most of the phone’s face. The top bezel houses the front camera, the iris scanner, and other sensors. There is no home button on the bottom bezel.

The Galaxy S8 has a dedicated button on the side for the Bixby AI assistant. Bixby will be compatible with all the native apps on S8, and it would be able to speak eight languages. Samsung is rumored to have moved the fingerprint scanner to the back of the device. It sits next to the main camera.
The Galaxy S8 is said to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port for charging, and up to 6GB of RAM.
