Nokia 8/Supreme Specs And Images Leaked, Expected At MWC 2017

Updated on

The Nokia 8, also known as the Supreme, appears to be on its way, according to a new leaked video by the Total Tech YouTube channel. In the video, we can see some alleged pictures of the upcoming handset. Whoever recorded the video talked about the specs of the smartphone as well, according to Android Headlines.

Expected specs for the Nokia 8 /Supreme

According to the person who recorded the video, this phone was on display during CES 2017 at Qualcomm’s booth; however, very few people noticed it.

According to the video, the Nokia Supreme will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit Octa-core processor. The source could be right in this particular spec, as several other rumors have said the same. This is Qualcomm’s all-new flagship processor introduced during CES 2017. This processor is expected to power many flagship smartphones this year, as is usually the case with Qualcomm’s flagship chips.

The Nokia 8 (a.k.a., Supreme) is said to sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display, according to the source. The display is said to be a regular, flat display instead of a curved one. The video adds that the Supreme will come in two storage variants: a cheaper model with 64GB of internal storage and an expensive one with 128GB of native storage. Users, however, will reportedly be able expand the amount of storage up to 256GB.

The handset is said to come with a 12-megapixel camera on the front and a 24-megapixel OIS snapper on the back, according to the video leak. The source claims that Android 7.0 Nougat will come pre-installed on the phone. The smartphone is expected to feature Nokia’s new digital assistant Viki.

Affordable variant can be expected

The source did not show the complete device in its video for some reason, but it looks like this smartphone will come with dual LEDs and an “oreo” rear-facing camera, notes Android Headlines. The video also claims that HMD Global is planning to launch a more affordable variant of this flagship which will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship SoC for 2016, the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC.

Nokia is trying to make a comeback in the smartphone market. The Finnish company has already announced an event for February 26. So there are good chances that the smartphone could be showcased during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

Though nothing is confirmed so far, this YouTube leak may confirm that the Nokia 8 will be Nokia’s flagship smartphone for 2017.
