Apollo Global Management Surprises With Strong 3Q

Apollo Global Management finished off a positive week for private equity’s major players, turning in yet another unexpectedly robust 3Q earnings report. The firm reported economic net income of about $231 million for the quarter, equivalent to 58 cents per share, far outpacing analyst expectations of around 45 cents. Apollo’s private equity assets appreciated 2.6% during 3Q, while the firm deployed $3 billion and realized $150 million, bringing year-to-date figures to $8.2 billion and $512 million, respectively.
