Even before the release of the iPhone 7, there have been consistent rumors that the 2017 iPhone 8 will sport an entirely new design. It will be jam-packed with exciting new features to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone. The iPhone 8 is said to have an all-glass display, with the home button, Touch ID and other sensors embedded into the display itself.
Apple to use ultrasonic imaging in iPhone 8
An Apple patent published in May this year suggests that the tech giant could use ultrasonic imaging technology to incorporate the home button in the smartphone display. While Apple is still working on the iPhone 8, a Chinese company known for shamelessly copying Apple products has launched its new smartphones that uses the same ultrasonic imaging technology.
Xiaomi has announced Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus that will take on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in Chinese and other Asian markets. Xiaomi has so far shied away from the US market because if it enters the US, Apple could sue it to bankruptcy. It built a multi-billion dollar business copying Apple and selling its products at dirt cheap prices.

Ultrasonic imaging allows the fingerprint reader to sit under the glass. It is said to be even more accurate than the Touch ID capacitive sensor. Xiaomi has carved an indent in the glass to help you locate the fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 821 processor, a 5.2-inch display with force-sensitive 3D Touch support, up to 128GB of storage, 4GB RAM, and a 3,200mAh battery.
iPhone 8 to feature wireless charging
Just like the iPhone 7 Plus, the Mi 5S Plus features a dual-lens camera. However, Xiaomi has opted for a combination of black-and-white and color sensors, unlike the telephoto lens and wide-angle lens in the iPhone 7 Plus.
Besides the all-glass OLED display, the iPhone 8 is rumored to feature wireless charging, an iris scanner, and fast charging capabilities. Apple has reportedly placed an order with Samsung for the supply of 100 million OLED displays starting 2017.
