French Man Destroys Everything In Apple Store In France [VIDEO]

Most people speak highly of Apple’s customer support. Of course, there could be a few unhappy customers, but one unhappy customer in France went a little too far to express his frustration. On Thursday, a customer entered the Apple store in Dijon, France and calmly started smashing iPhones, iPads, and even MacBooks in front of other customers and Apple staff. The guy had a steel ball in his hand that is used to play the popular French game Petanque.

Apple ‘refused to reimburse me,’ said angry customer

According to Le Bien Public, the incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday. In the video below, you can see the man – who appears to be in his thirties – wearing a backpack and dressed in shades. The disgruntled customer was filmed as he entered the store and walked from one tech stand to another. He is believed to have smashed at least ten iPhones, iPads, iPods and Macbooks.

You can see him picking up the devices, laying them flat on the counter, and crushing the screens with a barrage of smashes as he kept ranting in French. According to local media reports, the man was complaining about a refund and his consumer rights. As people in the Apple store tried to stop him, he shouted, “They (Apple) refused to reimburse me. So, you know what’s happening? This is happening! (Smashes another device)”

Apple store: Man damages devices worth thousands of euros

Eventually, he was restrained by security guards, with whom he could be seen arguing. The man did try to escape at least once before being snatched again. He was later handed over to the police, and an investigation is underway. The damage is estimated to be in several thousands of euros. A video of the incident was posted on Twitter, which has received more than 4,000 retweets.

Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus went on sale earlier this month. The devices have recorded impressive sales numbers, especially the Jet Black version, which was sold out on the very first day.
