Huawei Mate 9 And Meizu Pro 7 Renders Leak Online

Updated on

It’s not all about Apple and Samsung at the moment. You may have been led to believe that by the mainstream press, but other handset manufacturers are working on new smartphones that people also want to hear about. Two of these handsets are the Huawei Mate 9 and the Meizu Pro 7, and in the last 24 hours, leaked images have appeared online, providing us more details about what to expect.

Huawei Mate 9 Leak

Huawei is reportedly going to hold a press conference on September 1, but the Mate 9 is apparently not invited because the Chinese company has not officially announced it.

As for what is known about the handset, it is all rumor, but here we go. The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to have a 5.9-inch 1080p HD touchscreen, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset and will likely come running Android 7.0 Nougat.

Early rumors have pointed towards the handset having a popular dual rear camera set-up, much like what is being rumored for the iPhone 7, although the design is going to be somewhat different as you can see from the leaked image. Huawei has dabbled with rear dual-camera set-ups in the past with the P9. However, it is not clear if the Huawei Mate 9 will get Leica branding like it did.

There is also some disagreement about the resolution of the handset’s primary camera with a recent benchmark suggesting a 12-megapixel camera and a rumor claiming a 20-megapixel shooter. However, if it’s 12 megapixels, this could mean that the Mate 9 will get the same set-up as the P9.

So what does the leaked image reveal? From taking a look, I would say that the handset will have a fingerprint sensor on its back, and its main 12-megapixel or 20-megapixel camera will come with an LED flash and laser auto-focus. It is also likely that is will have an all-metal frame and benefit from a fast-charging feature.

Meizu Pro 7 Leak

Talk of the Meizu Pro 7 has been around for a while now. However, new leaked images suggest that they are real and show the front and back of the handset. They reveal a double curved display and yet another rear dual-camera set-up.

This latest Meizu Pro 7 leak comes only a day or two after an image of an Exynos 8890-powered Meizu smartphone was seen on the site AnTuTu. But the possibility of the handset in the image actually being the Meizu Pro 7 is apparently very small, so could that mean two new Meizu handsets are on the way? What is seen in the new leaked Pro 7 image is roughly in line with what has been seen before in previously leaked images.

Early rumors about the Meizu Pro 7’s launch date peg it vaguely before the end of the year, but a new more specific rumor from PlayfulAndroid has suggested that the Chinese company will unveil the Meizu Pro 7 on September 3.

To support this, a teaser image released by the company contained the tag lines “Pro than Pro” and “True flagship fingertips,” so does that really mean we will see the handset launch on the third? I would suggest you watch this space because as soon as we know, you will too.
