A few days ago, The Korea Herald reported that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 had received more than 200,000 pre-orders in just two days in South Korea, twice the pre-orders received by the Galaxy S7 in the same period. And South Korea is not the only country where Samsung is witnessing strong demand for its new phablet. The Korean company seems to have under-anticipated the demand for the Note 7. And it is now paying for the mistake by delaying the Galaxy Note 7 release in several countries.
Galaxy Note 7 delayed in the Netherlands, Malaysia, Russia
The Note 7 is available for pre-order in several countries. But Samsung Malaysia said Wednesday that the launch of the handset had been delayed in the country due to the supply shortage. The device is now expected to be available in Malaysia at some point in September. Separately, Samsung Netherlands also announced that the Galaxy Note 7 release in the country has been delayed by a week from September 2 to September 9. Samsung hasn’t even started taking pre-orders in the Netherlands.

Russia, which was supposed to get the device on September 2, now won’t get it until September 16. In Ukraine as well, the release has been delayed from September 2 to September 30. It won’t be surprising if Samsung ends up delaying the launch of its flagship phablet in more markets. The company is already accepting pre-orders in the US, where the Note 7 will go on sale on August 19 via all major carriers.
Samsung to launch 128GB Note 7 in China
Samsung’s mobile head Dong Jin Koh said during a press conference in Seoul that the company was planning to introduce a 128GB version of the Note 7 in China. Recently, a Galaxy Note 7 variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage was listed on the Chinese certification portal Tenna. Koh added that the company will start rolling out Android Nougat 7.0 to its flagship smartphones in two or three months after receiving user feedback.
